As an interesting aside, I've been doing some research on my great-great grandfather's regiment during the Civil War. The 16th Georgia Infantry Regiment was part of Cobb's (later Wofford's) Brigade, McLaw's Division, Longstreet's Corps, the Army of Northern Virginia. Records indicate that 1232 men served in the regiment over the course of the war, but 467 never made it home.
