In a convention filled will Romney delegates because that’s the way their states voted. 70% in Texas even. You know as well as I do it’s over. You just don’t want it to be and wish it wasn’t.

Talk to me after the convention. He may get it, but it's not a lock, quite yet.

And calling it before the lock is bad form.

Oh... 50% of the Florida delegates are disputed. That's just the start of the disputes.

So it's not a done deal. And folks that say it is may be a little soft headed.

ANYONE BUT OBAMA.

The stakes are too high. I would have preferred a more Conservative nominee, but it didn’t happen. I don’t have to like it, and I don’t....

...The most important thing is OBAMA MUST BE DEFEATED. I pledge to do absolutely everything in my power to make that happen.

No election is more important than this one.

Excellent post in #21, Ronin. I agree... I will also vote ANYONE BUT OBAMA this November. I would never dream of sitting out such an important election like this one, nor wasting my precious vote on some candidate who could never win, nor even wants the job.

So many of us thought Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter and Clintoon were bad. Good grief... look at what we're dealing with in the White House now. It's obvious what we all need to do - the stakes are far too high this time.

God help this country if The One gets a second term...

I am voting for Romney because we will not survive another 4 years of Obama.

Amen. It's obvious.

The point is NONE of those things will be possible if Obama is given another four years to destroy America. We need to stop being petulant about not getting our way and think about what is best for the country, our children and our grandchildren.

GREAT post. I would love to see more fantastic posts like that on FR. We used to see comments like that all the time 'back in the day'. I barely recognize this place anymore...

Instead of the poison pill, I’m going with the gun to the mouth.

Why not move to Singapore instead? No reason to get blood all over the sofa!

Seriously, would you rather deal with an Obama fortified with a reelection mandate or a highly competent, eager to please, Mittens? He'll do the right thing, provided the wind is blowing the right way when he lifts up his moistened finger!

Etch a Sketch, for sure. Poor Mittens just needs to understand what sketch to etch in 2013! That will require a team effort!

We just need to make sure Mittens, and not Traitor Barack, is the President in 2013, and, more important, that there are solid majorities for all the right things in Congress!!!

Great post Ronin! I posted this question as a barometer to gauge Freeper sentiments, and you summed it up quite well. We need to accept the sad fact that a RINO is once again the nominee, but is better than the abomination currently in the White House. A true conservative running mate is a big step. The key now is to elect conservatives to Congress to hold Romney accountable and drag him to the right. This election is EXTREMELY important, and I too pledge to do all I can to ensure Obama’s defeat. I shudder to think where we will be in four years if he is reelected. I will hold my nose and support Romney

Likewise, I think a convention coup is unlikely and inadvisable. No one likes Romney, but we realize that the alternative is far worse. Think about it—in 92 Clinton beat GHWB by 4%, with Perot garnering 19%. If not for Perot, we would have never had Clinton, probably a different nominee than Dole in 96, and no GWB in 2000. True, the Republican takeover in 94 may not have been as drastic, but we would have had a RINO with a conservative congress. The one fly in the ointment would have been 4 more years of Quayle as VP, who had no shot at the Presidency. Perhaps a Gingrich or Delay would have run in 96. The events of the past 2 decades could have been much different. As much as it pains us, and as nauseating as it is, we need to get behind Romney and oppose Obama with all we’ve got.

“No one likes Romney”

How pathetic. We are not only suppose to vote for a pro-abortion, anti-gun, engineer of gay marriage and the person who gave us our first taste of national healthcare; but also someone no one likes- except for Rove, Coulter, Drudge,.....the Rino’s. I have yet to meet ANYONE who not only likes Willard, but is excited about him. I just called the RNC to let them know I am not going to be a delegate after all, I will not back romney.
