I wish it was just 'creepy'. Om, or Ohm, is, in Hinduism, the sound of the universal vibration. It is a technique used by in many Hindu rituals to 'involk' the Force....the impersonal universal force to be manipulated as one wishes. It is as occultic as it gets. It is witchcraft come into the state capitol.
I have no doubt that most of the people there participating in this occultism had no clue what they were doing. But, whoever was the instigator of it knew very well what they were doing.
