AUBURN, Alabama (Reuters) - Three men including two former Auburn University football players were shot dead and three others including a current player were wounded when an argument at a pool party at an off-campus apartment complex escalated, police said on Sunday.
Two of those shot to death, Edward Christian and Ladarious Phillips, both 20, no longer played for Auburn. A current member of the team, Eric Mack, also 20, was wounded and admitted to East Alabama Medical Center. His condition was not released.
The third fatality was Demario Pitts, 20, police said.
The three athletes were members of Auburn's 2010 recruiting class and joined the team that season, which ended with the Auburn Tigers winning the national championship.

Ladarious, we hardly knew ya.
Amish?
Make that three shot DAY-ED, a fourth in critical cond.
If Obama had a son ... he wouldn’t be manly enough to be on a football team.
Did any of them have Skittles?
“Ladarious”? That is all I needed to know to understand what happened.
I read a different article and another of these non-amish in the fight is named “Turquorius”. Now come on....these are some really stupid names. I should be used to it by now, but continue to be amazed at the strange made up name game.

Auburn police have sworn out three capital murder warrants against Desmonte Leonard, 22, of Montgomery. Police say he shot and killed three people, including former Auburn football players Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips, and injured three others.
Leonard was charged with theft and carrying a weapon without a permit or license in 2008. He was also charged with second-degree assault in 2009.

I agree with you comp, etelyabout those names. They’re silly.
LOL! For those who don’t know, the Von Mises Institute, a conservative think-tank, is located in Auburn on West Magnolia Avenue.
That is like the name La-a. It is pronounced La Dash A, because “that dash ain’t silent.”
Leonard was charged with theft and carrying a weapon without a permit or license in 2008. He was also charged with second-degree assault in 2009.

Nice Amish family. The barn raisings will just kill ya.
Nope, according to "Rev" Al Sharpton, they only had skillets.
Good one. Reminds me of the time I was watching one of my son's college football games. The P.A. announcer kept giving credit to a star defensive back whose first name was spelled Reyna. Well, the announcer pronounced it like anyone would, "Rayna". Right in front of us in the next row is this large mama yelling, "It Renay! It Renay!"
Standing joke in our family. I must say, though, Reyna was a fine player.
Awful about this shooting.
At a local grocery store there was a female worker and her nametag said Girl. My friend asked if her name was “Girl” and she said no that it was “Gi-relle” as in Ji-relle— I kid you not!
The police have said that the players (2 of whom were former players incidentally) that were shot were all innocent victims and did not instigate the shooting whatsoever. One of the the former players, Ed Christian, was the son of a policeman and tried to break up the fight. He did the right thing and paid with his life. The shooter himself was a stranger from out of town who had no connection to the university.
This was a nice apartment complex in a low crime town. Very sad that the ‘hood mentality invaded and destroyed these young lives.
They got that off the birth certificate. We had one at work whose name was pronounced “Feh-Mah-Lee.”
It was spelled “Female.”
White Hispanics.

It was OK until the “She’On”. That was one step too far.
Looks like a nice girl and she has graduated high school.
I wish her a productive and happy life, and that she names her kids Jane and Bob, Mary and Mike, anything but LaShamequa and Turquiosian.
