Can our representatives really be this out of touch?
A good many of them are. I've seen my congressman sponsor bills to cut funding to things like the arts and OSHA only to see a $100 million funding cut whittled down to $5 million. Meanwhile, someone else is increasing funding to something else by $10 million.
2 steps forward and 3 steps back.

My rep, Chip Cravaack (MN-8), voted no on Davis-Bacon. I wanna know why. But then, so did Paul Ryan.

Any time I hear a (R) pol refer to his opponent as "gracious" in anything, I know we have a RINO on our hands.

Can our representatives really be this out of touch? Apparently, yes.
Anyone know how many of these "Spending Enablers" were elected in the 2010 "Tea-Party-Tsunami"? It might indicate how contagious "Potomac-Fever" is...

It’s not democrats and republicans now.
It’s we the people against the government.
I am afraid this will not end peacefully.
The Soap box failed.
The ballot box is failing..
This leaves one box left...

You are late to the party, Eric. I figured out that Republicans had taken the Bernanke koolaid back in 2007, when I stopped supporting the Rs with money. I still vote R as there is no other viable choice.
Bernanke and the rest of the PTB have figured out that by stealing everyone’s wealth at the rate of about 3.8% a year over the next 10 years they can get us out of the depression and sovereign debt problem. This will cost each of us about 45% of our wealth, but it will be done slowly enough to discourage outright rebellion.
Actually, I think it will work. I'd prefer the shorter/quicker solution but I don't live in a big city anymore and am isolated from social unrest. I have contingencies in place for all possible economic outcomes.

Until the the presidency and senate are controlled by Republicans, the house voting for spending cuts is an exercise in futility. Then, if they don’t cut spending, it’ll be time to get rid of them, too.

"Can our representatives really be this out of touch?" Can the people that keep sending them back be out of touch is the real question!
Oh darn, I forgot, it doesn't matter what they say and then do as long as they have an (R) behind their name. The GOP rank and file are the GOP-E.
