Anybody else out there having problems watching YouTube videos via FireFox? I keep getting a message that says: "An Error has Occurred. Please Try Again Later."

I did a Google search and other FireFox users are having the same problem.

I’m ok with ie but on FireFox I keep getting that error message on YouTube. And I’m not the only one. Something strange going on with FireFox.

Hey PJ, I’m not a Firefox user, but make sure your security settings aren’t so tight that it isn’t allowing YouTube to launch flash plugins.

I did have some trouble with some of them, but this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh0AhrY9GjA&feature=player_embedded#! is ok sort of. It seems to freeze at first.

Clear your cache and browsing history. Check your plugins:

It’s not the problem the OP is having but I’ve had to downgrade Flashplayer from 11 to 10 to prevent crashes. In fact, I gave 11 three chances to get it right (minor revisions) and after all three I had to retreat to 10. These are the version numbers for Flashplayer for Firefox under Linux.

Also, set dom.storage.enabled to TRUE:

I cleared the cache and I still can’t watch the videos. And a lot of people are now having the same problem.

Like iowamark says, the dom.storage.enabled flag is causing a lot of problems. Check it.

That sometimes happens randomly on videos, but if it is every video you try to watch, my bet is on Javascript not being enabled. Go to Tools > Options > Content > Enable JavaScript, and make sure it is checked. If not that, then update your Flash player, and if not that, update Firefox.

Also, make sure you are not running Firefox in “No Add-Ons” mode.

Also, try deleting everything in your “Temporary Internet Files” folder. There is a size limit on this folder, but Windows will not give you a warning or error message when it is reached. If it is full, then youtube cannot download the temporary file of the video to your computer, so it cannot play.

*sigh* If you were able to view youtube before then advice enabling javascript etc. is foolish.

Rugrats are out of school doing their rugrat thing. Happened last year and within a couple of weeks they lost interest and the situation improved.

I tried all that. Still no luck. I checked on Google and this now seems to be a major problem. Many others can’t watch videos via FireFox.

Nope. I tried that too. Still no luck. Like I said many others now have the same problem. Maybe download FireFox again?

I had that problem when I declined googles new “guidleine”. Once I did that, I could not get my you tube to work unless I went to IE.

Once on IE, I had no problem getting into you tube.
