It is the abandonment of the core values that made this Nation great that has cast us upon the roiling sea of asperity in which we now find ourselves.

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

He’ll leave a negative mark for posterity

i don't know if i can make it, Ti. i don't see how i am going to stand it. the asperity i feel when
reading crap that makes blood shoot out of my eyes is enormous. xshub was reading aloud to me a book review from some SU alumni publication, of a book about Romney, written by a Jew, who in the first SENTENCE of the review mentions Romney's religion. HOW IS THAT $%^@ing RELEVANT? i mean, i could ask the same of the LOOONatics on FR who harp on it in thread after thread, but honestly, WHO GIVES A * about the fact that Romney is a Mormon??? My SIL said that someone at church asked her sister about it. XS-SIL and her family are evangelical Baptists. Some guy asked her sister about voting for a Mormon. Kandy said, hey, he may end up in Hell, but while he's on earth he will do a better job with this country than the current occupant of the WH!! end of story!

First off, it’s actually a good thing that clear lines are being drawn in the HHS mandate battle. Enough wishy washy church.
Secondly, don’t you know that your soul is eternally linked to the beliefs of the politicians for whom you vote? That seems to be the standard line around here.
Ironic, isn’t it, that those who would tell you their salvation is assured are most worried about Jesus judging them for voting for a Mormon?

i know, but i still get wound up. i am supposed to have lunch with a friend today, she’s a lib [black and her kids work for obama] who is a Catholic convert who already expressed her distaste for Benedict to me. it always surprises me when libs act true to form (i don’t know why) Lib Catholics love JPII, dislike Benedict. Check. Then the fact that libs hate anything patriotic, i had two coworkers express that sentiment to me in different ways recently and i was like— OF COURSE, of course you would have a problem with patriotism.

Why did she convert?
Libs love JPII because they don’t see how he laid the groundwork for someone like Benedict to come along.
To: SoothingDave
She is originally from Guyana, SA. She moved to NJ after HS, went to Rutgers for college where she met her husband, a white Polack Catholic. They graduated Rutgers, went to Georgetown Law, and married. She converted to marry him. They are the epitome of happy slapdom.

I can see November from my back fourty!
I see a landslide.
We had one in WI last week and I saw that one comin’ too.
I know of no one who has prospered in this aspertitious (bumpy) economy. (I totally made up aspertitious). If it is really a word, do I get extra credit?

Asperity
I think this asperity word should be for commercial use only. You know, as a name for some girly man’s perfume. Put it on t.v. with a couple of hairless gym slaves pouting at each other.
The reason for this is if you say “asperity” right out loud it’s tough to imagine anyone really saying it in a sentence.
Would a sea captain say they were expecting asperity type of weather? Did an Indian stannding over Gen. Custer say, “Losing is real asperity”? No.
Clarity not Asperity! Death to the Asp!

I love the smell of fresh watergate in the morning-
Holder says he won’t resign
While he tries to place the blame
For the whole stupid mess
On everyone else he can name
It is no wonder that asperity
Is shown by Issa and the rest-
Holder’s response to questions
Would give any saint a test
He’s hanging on by fingernails
To keep from being tossed
Under Obama’s bus-he doesn’t see
That his cause is already lost
Holder would be the ultimate sacrifice to the mobsters who control Obama, but the fact that he won’t go quietly is getting ugly for the whole party...
