FRiends, an apocalypse will never leave us without gub’mint. If history teaches anything, it is that people will take any form of control over chaos. The EOTWAWKI basic script is rooted in Hollywood movies starring the lone man v. the hordes of evil doers. Police will obey whomever feeds them and their families. The military may fragment, but our beloved leader is busy loading it with street scum and they will serve their master. The apocalypse window after any event will be fairly brief with the exception of a nuclear erasure of the east coast.

You want coverage? Try Proverbs 3: 5,6.

“As a result Elijah hid in a cave at Mt. Carmel in Haifa, Israel to avoid being killed.”

From the Catholic prophecy I just posted. God doesn’t
change. The “refuges” are spoken of in Scripture and remember the catacombs...refuges for the first Christians.

A howlingly funny movie. One of the best in a long, long time.

“Thanks for your service. Imho, if an apocolyps happens, so be it. My job sucks that bad..”

Don’t worry, if it happens you may well be one of the handful of survivors -—————— you and your boss!

“If the apocalypse is a financial apocalypse a bunker will be almost useless. “

The military has them, and some civilians have them done right.

Properly outfitted, you can maintain a decent environment for a year or longer in relative comfort - with power, water, hot showers, clean clothes, the whole shebang.

The scenarios can be pretty far fetched - EMP, Bird Flu/pandemic, financial collapse/chaos, nuclear fallout - but it IS possible to mitigate them, or some of them, if you want to do it.

It can be done - but maintaining a low profile in your chosen environment is the tough part.

I could tell you neither year nor episode, but it’s worth seeking out. Burgess Meridith was in a few episodes, I believe, but that’s a good place to start in your search engine. He plays a bank teller that is distracted by his love of reading. The world, for a moment, is benevolent...but fickle.

I don’t remember the name or season. It’s been years since I last saw it.

Berges Meredith worked deep down in a bank vault. He would

read when he was supposed to be working. He wore very

thick glasses and after the nuclear war he came upon a

large library and was in book heaven. Then he had a mishap

that ruined the rest of his life.

Try YouTube-”Bergess Meredith” But he was in at least two Twilight Zone episodes.

Let me know if you want to know how it ended. I don’t want to spoil it for you now.

That’s the saddest moment in cinema...right up there with the demise of Ol’ Yeller.

there is no shortage of fruits, vegies, fish, and meat.

And no shortage of third world savages that will kill you in a heartbeat.

People don’t prepare for the same levels of disaster to survive. While many plans get you short of an apocaplyse, that still doesn’t mean they are useless. It be great to have enough security and food to handle a short to medium disruption in their region or nationwide, which are a lot more likely than a huge mega-event that perhaps only happens once, ever.

Maybe a bunker won't save you, but being in a space station certainly will!

Those photos are from the best Twilight Zone episode ever filmed, IMHO.
I agree. It was Burgess Merideth when he started out. I love watching the Twilight Zone even to this day. One of my favorites featured Elisabeth Montgomery and Charles Bronson in an episode where they met as enemies after Earth was destroyed by a World War. There were so many great actors that got their start in the Twilight Zone. James Coburn, Burt Reynolds and Robert Vaughan just to name a few.
