Divulse comes from the Latin root vellere meaning "plucked". The prefix di- is a variation of dis- before the letter v meaning "apart" or "away", as in disown.

while i am gratified that Romney is going with guns blazing, i can’t say i am going to LOVE the election season, it’s far too nervewracking. i was behind a car pulling into my parking garage yesterday that had TWO “I SUPPORT PRESIDENT OBAMA” bumperstickers, an OBAMA 2012 bumper sticker and assorted other local political stickers one for Tim Kaine, dem of VA. Now you can say that it’s different where you live and that’s true, but TN is not going to win the election for Romney, whereas VA is pivotal, and the nutball with all of those bumperstickers had VA plates. i hope against hope that people know what is going on. I talked with a colleague yesterday here who voted for Obams but he’s not a leftist nutball. He said that Obams wasn’t all he was cracked up to be, and that he really didn’t care if he was re-elected. I suppose i should ask if he will vote for him again. we spoke of the dreck on both sides and i said, Mike, you are a grownup, you know NO ONE is all that and 10 bags of chips in life, so why were you taken in by the cult of personality. he had no answer for me.
