BRUSSELS — For most Europeans, almost nothing is more prized than their four to six weeks of guaranteed annual vacation leave. But it was not clear just how sacrosanct that time off was until Thursday, when Europe’s highest court ruled that workers who happened to get sick on vacation were legally entitled to take another vacation.

Any idea why that continent is so screwed up?

“The workers originally won their case in a Spanish court, where they argued that collective bargaining agreements made a distinction between annual leave and sick leave that was recognized by Spanish law. The National Association of Large Distribution Businesses, known as Anged, appealed to the Supreme Court in Madrid, which then asked the Court of Justice for a ruling on how to apply European law covering working times.

Spain currently has around a 25% unemployment rate... This should help considerably.

Their culture—schools, institutions, etc—is based on German Postmodern ideology-—socialism/Marxism,/nihilism, etc. The masses are immersed in ideology that makes them slaves of the few ruling masters.

The Catholic influence of individualism was erased with the infiltration of Marxist ideology (social justice without subsidiarity) into the religion....which makes the religion worthless. A Godless, Catholicism which ejects the ideas of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Father of Catholic Theology.

That is definitely very true with regards to Spain. Spain used to be a strong catholic country, but astonishingly, in just a few years of socialist rule (Zapatero) that tradition has been wiped out - to such an extent that birth certificates no loger identify the parents as mother and father, but as progenitor 1 and progenitor 2.

A tradition that was even more individualistic than catholicism was protestantism - Luther’s revolution which freed the individual from the catholic hierarchy. And the german postmodern ideology has managed to take care of that as well.

That is so Marxist to destroy the concept of Mother and Father. It is the absolute takeover of the minds of the child to effect their radical egalitarianism where genetics and family mean absolutely nothing.

It is the dehumanizing and debasing of the human being-—to mere animal.
People are just cogs in the wheel, now (individuality nonexistent)-—drones to be managed and manipulated-—no free will—no ability to reason and use logic because they throw out the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God. No dignity and worth of each individual. No rights of the individual. It is evil.

Individualism came from Christianity. Yes, hierarchy is big in the Catholic Church—but it has good aspects—like holding together traditions and orthodoxy and generations. Like all bureaucracies, power tends to corrupt so the Church has to be always vigilant. But the idea of Free Will was always one of the most important concept taught in Catholic Theology along with God is the only master of man.

Spain should heed the nihilism of postmodernism in history but the masses are too ignorant. Marxists/socialism controls their children’s ideas and reality with an iron boot. Bread and circuses. No Truth allowed. The Pope is not able to penetrate the cloak of socialism since it is bred into children—cradle to grave now.

No, they don’t get any vacation time. Time off for vacation would imply time on for work and what they do hardly qualifies as any known concept of labor.

I worked at Camp Pendleton data processing center as a civilian back in the ‘70s.

I had just hired on when I got hammered with a bad case of the flu and asked for a few days sick leave - boss says no, gotta be there six months. Newly married and taking a 30% pay cut as I changed careers and started at the bottom, I could ill afford (no pun intended) to take those unpaid says off, so I showed up, and walked around like a zombie.

A few weeks later, a co-worker got married and took off for a two weeks honeymoon in Mexico. In a few days she gets hit with Montezuma’s Revenge and changes it to sick leave - and the boss OKs it.

I was so pist I couldn’t see straight, as were some others, but that was my introduction on how the Civil Service worked.
