xsboy had a harrowing/sobering experience down at VA tech last weekend. Drove the 4 hours to get there, along with his friend. Got stopped for speeding immediately upon his arrival on the Tech campus. To add insult to injury, the cop said he thought he smelled alcohol in the car and asked him to get out to perform a sobriety test and breathylzer. Which thank the Lord was totally negative. xsboy was OUTRAGED and thankfully did not say to the cop what he said to me on the phone [and which truth be told i might have blurted out to the cop my own self] which was "WHY AREN'T YOU CATCHING MURDERERS DOWN HERE INSTEAD OF STOPPING SOMEONE FOR SPEEDING ON AN EMPTY CAMPUS." It was probably all told a good thing, since it was very scary and alarming to him to be stopped. I know what the cop smelled. His hockey bag was in the car. That thing makes his car smell like a derelict homeless man is living in it. i always think his car smells funky because of it. SO yeah, the jackbooted thugs are out in force in VA.

yes, he was profiled. he could not get over it. i said honey, you have NO experience with campus police, let alone campus police in a college town. they have NOTHING ELSE going on, their mission in life is to bust kids for drinking, they are going to be looking for it, and imagining it even where it isn’t.
oh you know i love to mouth off to a cop and he’s heard me, so i am thankful he didn’t say that about solving murders, bc you know Va Tech is rife with shootings, sawing heads off in the au bon pain etc! we laugh about it all the time, God forgive us.

They don’t have police at Syracuse, or he just has no experience with them?

oh they have them i guess, but it’s a city, not just a university, whereas Blackburg, VaTech is the only game in town. he has no experience with them and basically just doesn’t even know what the function of campus police is.

and because there’s never a dull moment in our house, xsrisingsenior found out that the boy who was over our house last week and who has been pestering her kind of nonstop for a date etc. is BI. i told my SIL last night and she said Bi-WHAT? i said biSEXUAL what do you think! LOL! so yeah, she’d already decided she didn’t want any part of him and this seals that particular deal!

Must have been about 25yrs ago now that SU campus had a rapist. Never did hear if they caught him. I was on the campus back that summer. Myself and my young daughter. It was summer, and I was very, very careful.
