But in the end, some people may find that they have too little real religion.
Oh no. Poor woman. She was married to Watergate Bernstein. He ruined their marriage with an affair. He claimed he was at the dentist having root canals when, in fact, he was drilling some babe all the time.
Carl Bernstein’s ex.
Them are classics?
Nora Ephron’s Rage and Hatred
April 21, 2008
RUSH: Nora Ephron today at the Huffington Post: another example of how stupid and racist liberals are. She begins this way: “Here’s another thing I don’t like about this primary: Now that there are only two Democratic candidates, it’s suddenly horribly absolutely crystal-clear that this is an election about gender and race.” Well, Nora, it’s always been about gender and race and sex and bigotry and so forth. This is identity politics! That’s what the Democrat Party’s known for. She correctly then asserts, “This may have always been true, but weeks ago it wasn’t so obvious — once upon a time there were eight candidates, and although six of them withered away, their presence in the campaign managed to obscure things. Even around the time of Ohio, when there were primarily three candidates, the outlines were murky, because Edwards was still in there, picking up votes from all sectors. But now there are two and we’re facing Pennsylvania and whom are we kidding? This is an election about whether the people of Pennsylvania hate blacks more than they hate women. And when I say people, I don’t mean people, I mean white men.
Sure they are classics.
Star journalist Dustin Hoffman’s ex?
This thread is worthless without the Meg Ryan fake orgasm scene....
I laughed myself sick reading that book!
Talented woman...gone so soon.
NE: "Whom are we kidding? This is an election about whether the people of Pennsylvania hate blacks more than they hate women. And when I say people, I dont mean people, I mean white men."
It must suck to die that stupid.
Sad news. I happen to have known her well for a long time. For being known. Now I’ll know her for being known and dead.
It was....my favorite scene is when Jack Nicholson complains....( paraphrasing) “every day, millions of single men do a laundry. They wash tens of millions of pairs of socks each day. And each day millions of socks go missing. Now just where do they all go?”
Bad way to go, no matter who it is. 71 is too young to die, these days.
Sorry for her death. The “Big L” is tough on you before it kills you. Hope she had her affairs in order with the Lord.
Bless her and her family.
BUT, I never heard of her. How is this national news?
And then there was this (from IMDB.com):
Mark Forman: It’s just that there’s no door to the kitchen.
Contractor Laszlo: The back door.
Mark Forman: The back door. Yes. It’s true. You can get into the kitchen... through the back door. This, we know is a kitchen. But you can’t get inside the house from the kitchen! Now, how the f*** did this happen?
Rachel Samstat: Mark. For God’s sake. Laszlo, we thought that you could put a door here.
Contractor Laszlo: She’s a piece of cake. He’s a piece of cake.
Rachel Samstat: It’s a piece of cake.
Contractor Laszlo: You are Hungarian?
Rachel Samstat: No. You are Hungarian.
Contractor Laszlo: Yes.
Rachel Samstat: Yes. Hungarians have no pronouns.
Mark Forman: Apparently they don’t have f***ing doors, either.
Contractor Laszlo: She is very angry at me.
Rachel Samstat: He is very angry at you. Yes.
She’s written and/or directed a lot of popular films.
You have never heard of Sleepless in Seattle or You’ve Got Mail? If you haven’t then you have missed two good movies. If you need a good laugh and enjoy movies about dating and relationships I recommend you rent these.
I like 'The Shop Around the Corner' (1940) better though.
I recently saw Bernstein’s wife at an event. She was just as Ephron described her - amazingly tall with the biggest feet of any woman I ever saw.
RIP, Nora. You weren’t the greatest director but you wrote some funny books back in the 1970s.
The word classic gets tossed around a bit loosely these days.
AMC (American Movie Classics now shows Predator).
“What I Wont Miss”
Bad dinners like the one we went to last night
Technology in general
Washing my hair
Polls that show that 32 percent of the American people believe in creationism
The collapse of the dollar
The sound of the vacuum cleaner
E-mail. I know I already said it, but I want to emphasize it.
What I Wont Miss
Nora, I won’t be missing you much either.
