I guess that's nice.

But I wish these people would donate to organizations, if there are any, that identify legitimate people in need... hardworking people truly in financial straits to maybe pay their mortgage for the month because the breadwinner got laid off or paying for an elderly person's electric bills for the winter. I mean honest people who are trying hard or are unable to make a living but are still up against the wall financially.

When there is so much need, especially in today's craptacular economy, I'm not very enthused about big dollars going to the arts.

Unlike Bill Maher who donated a million dollars to the despicable Communist-in-Chief to help him destroy us, the liberal Baldwin at least showed class and intelligence giving his million bucks to promoting classical music.

I feel revulsion when I see both private and public money going to religion-hating and/or radically-political "art artists" or to the propagandist leftists at National Public Radio.

But if someone is going to donate freely of his/her own will, I'm grateful someone like Baldwin applied his money to an art that needs all the help it can get in this day of poor economics when hurtin' folks are staying home from classical concerts. Orchestra grunt musicians have to eat, too.

I'm also grateful Baldwin is supporting the very existence of a classical orchestra in view of the blaring, no-redeeming-social-value, classless, copy-cat "music" enveloping and dominating the lives of much of the younger generation today.

At least some of these yutes will have the option of attending future classical concerts instead of rock concerts if they so choose....thanks to donors like Baldwin.
