It always horrifies me how hard dogs play. When the small emergency back-up dog (kind of a Chihuahua/weasel cross of some kind) plays with the main dog, she jumps up and tears his face off. And he loves it. The little girl, the one who just died, would get up a 25-mile-an-hour head of steam and with her jaws gaping viciously, run at the main dog, and crash into him. Clearly dogs are much better-engineered than we are. I love them. I want more.

FTR, imho dogs haven’t got a hateful bone in their bodies.

Prissy might have been lunch around my two Aussies. They seem okay with my sister’s menagerie of small dogs, including a chihuahua. However, a visiting Maltese ran away from them and they gave chase. We’re not sure if it was prey drive or the typical herding instinct, but we weren’t going to find out! After considerable shouting, they broke off the chase. The Maltese was sure she would be eaten.
