I saw a note slide across the #TCOT feed on Twitter last night that mentioned Michelle Obama had no law license. This struck me as odd, since (a) she went to school to be a lawyer, and (b) she just recently held a position with the University of Chicago Hospitals as legal counsel — and that’s a pretty hard job to qualify for without a law license. But being a licensed professional myself, i knew that every state not only requires licensure, they make it possible to check online the status of any licensed professional. So I did . . . MORE

I was commenting on Michelle supposedly being legal counsel for the Hospital. She was not. No law license was required for her job there.

Look, the way was greased for Obama every step he took in life. He is now President of the United States who has gotten away with a massive number of phony and hidden actions. Even those that are known or suspected cannot be used to prosecute him or take away his Presidency.

Maybe because people were wrongly assuming "court ordered" was a bad thing, and not a case of a court acting on a license holder's petition to voluntarily place their license on inactive status?
Really, there's plenty to go after BHO for without resorting to grand conspiracy theories that have no basis in reality.

Why would somebody bust their butt to get a law license (1989) then voluntarily surrender it a mere 4 years later (1993)?

By the way, many, many, many people go to law school, graduate, pass the bar but ultimately end up not practicing law or doing it for a very short time.
Or they move to another state with no plans to return (law licenses are issued state-by-state).
They voluntarily retired their licenses. This is not unusual at all. Lawyers who change careers do it all the time.
Michelle was not hired as legal counsel for the hospital. She was hired to move poor sick people who couldn’t pay their bills out of the hospital and foist them on some other hospital. Then when her husband was elected to the Senate her job was to lobby him to give tax dollars to the hospital. She did both jobs well but neither needed a law license to do them.
Barry never practiced law. Probably because he was incompetent.
I understand the law schools are graduating vastly more people than there are jobs waiting.
They might have had ethical issues, sure, but why would they “bust their butts”, only to surrender licenses?
Don’t know for sure about her, but he obviously did not bust his butt for anything in his entire life. It was paved like a golden street for his every step and he knew it. He as a self admitted lay about and druggie. And there’s a reason we don’t see his grades.
Doubt if she had to try hard, either. She came from a family with connections in Chicago, just like Jarrett did, and they all had each others’ backs.
Surrendering the license to practice is no biggie either. You can get all kinds of jobs and you can always list on your resume that you are a law school grad and that is considered important.
And if someone has already paved your way, who cares anyhow?
Are you aware Barry used to tell people since he was a child and on beyond, that one day he was going to be President of the United States?
Not that he wanted to be, that he WOULD be?
So why would he sweat anything along the way...
The key word is voluntary. She asked the court to inactivate her license and they so ordered it. There is nothing suspicious there at all.
That's been the case for years & years. More so in recent times.
The WSJ had an article in the last week or two saying (if I remember right) about 50% of law school grads can't find legal jobs.
Many law schools, in turn, pad their own stats regarding graduates getting jobs by setting grads up with temporary positions, paid for by the law school. Presto! - Their graduates are getting jobs!
