As I was watching Firefly, I was wondering.. I fear our future is going to be looking like Firefly, where the Government meddles in every aspect of our lives.

Here is my favorite episode of the Zone...

The Obsolete Man. Does the dictator look like Barack Obama??

That is a good episode of Twilight Zone! Burgess Meredith was excellent in whatever he did. Great ending, too.

You’re right! That bad guy dictator DOES look like “Obama.” He looks like Stanley Ann Dunham’s brother, in fact (if she had a brother, that is).

The government is headed there, and one day soon, it will be global.

That’s definitely one of my favorite episodes as well. Reminds me of Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 (1953).

The Obsolete Man. That is an amazing episode. I, however, believe that a true fascist would have lost it almost immediately, become irrational and beat Wordsworth until he admitted he had a key.

For fans of The Walking Dead, today AMC is continuing a marathon of the series, with a special season 3 preview of Talking Dead at 9:00 Eastern tonight.

I believe that after the "Talking Dead" show, they will show the Season 1, Episode 1, which will be shown in black and white, making it look a lot like the graphic novel.

I got caught up in it again, yesterday, while they were showing Season 1. I then remembered why I got so involved in this story. It really is a character-driven piece, even if a lot of people want more zombie gore. Hubby and I are not people who are into the zombie genre; but, we were bored one weekend and I had the entire first season on Netflix streaming, so we decided to try it and if we didn't like it we could just stop watching. We got hooked. But, that first season of 6 eps really was outstanding.

The show is definitely addictive. My husband and I have always liked horror movies, including some of the zombie genre, but in our opinions, The Walking Dead is in a class by itself. The zombies/walkers are almost extras, in a way. The character development is what gets so many people (including us) hooked.

At least the crew of the Serenity can stay one step ahead of the government. We don't have that option.

I think its the fact that there are PEOPLE in it, not just hyped up survivalist. The city planner who died by choice in the CDC. An attorney, the blonde woman, who has gone from terrified big sister to group protector. A retired guy who just tootled in his RV who ended up dying trying to keep watch (Dale). You can relate to the characters, because they’re like you or someone you know, not just a survivalists’ wet dream.

“The Walking Dead”: Does anyone know what caused the zombies in the first place?

I agree. And it’s amazing to watch the characters evolve-—in some cases, to the opposite of where they started out.

What movie was that from? I remember it because:

a) It had Patrick Stewart in it, and his demise was interesting...

b) It had Steve Railsback in it, who was AWESOME in “The Stuntman.”

c) It had this really HOTTTTTTT space alien/vampire!

Especially “C”

Something interesting is going on in "Falling Skys," and depending on the next couple of episodes, it could be really great or seriously jump the shark.

Only if he had his thugs with him. The dictator in this episode did not.. That is why Wordsworth was able to get with it..
