Skip to comments.FR and browser problems

I use two browsers, IE and Firefox. Lately, neither works properly with Free Republic. If I am using Firefox, when I use the down arrow to scroll down the FR page, it simply jumps to the bottom. It will not scroll unless I put the mouse arrow on the right hand up/down control and then carefully drag the text down. With IE, whenever I try to post anything to FR on any topic, I get an error message that this cannot be done and that my post has been rejected. However, if I restart FR, the post appears as usual.
Can anyone help with this? Thanks.
scroll lock button is on?
I started using Google Chrome a while back....seems faster and with fewer problems.
I use IE as little as possible, it’s slow.
Google Chrome works great for me on FR. It’s fast, articulate, and clean! And it never apologizes.
Stupid stuff that seems to come and go ... I figure "they're" watching me, gorebull warming or just entropy.
I've given up on believing my high speed line is high speed.
Doesn’t Google Chrome mine all your input data?
Firefox also has auto scrolling feature that you can turn off. Check the advanced settings.
I have had similar problems with older versions of FF (3.0 and before), but none recently.
Adobe Flash 11 does NOT play well with FF. Both have been trying to find out what is causing the problem but FF 12 balks with Flash 11.
A couple of the FF rapid releases has problems with PDF files. That seems to have been resolved.
Mozilla’s Rapid Release has created more problems than they solve. They need to slow their insanity.
In related developments, Mozilla is discontinuing future rapid releases of Thunderbird, after ver 14.
There’s no solution, Pab’...
IE and Bing are both popular but are both from Microsoft, which supports the homosexual agenda.
Google Chrome is a stable platform, but Google is Leftist and backs the homosexuals.
Firefox loads all sorts of browser bells & whistles and interferes with smooth operation.
If there is an acceptable alternate, I haven’t heard it.
The bank said it had had a few complaints from OPERA users, so I uninstalled and went back to IE
youtube was also a little strange with OPERA.
Opera works pretty well.
You can install it on a USB drive and try it out.
for IE go top left to Page tab
Find the Compatibility view and click to allow that for freerepuglic.
It seems to fix issues I have had on other pages.
Smokingfrog mentioned it...
I had an issue with scrolling a couple of weeks back after I updated FF. In FF, go to Tools, Options, Advanced. In the General Tab, make sure “smooth scrolling” is not checked.
I don’t know if this will help your issue but it did help the jerky movement I was getting from my mouse wheel.
I use Firefox and I’m not experiencing that problem and I can’t find a way to replicate your problem.
The only thing I’ve experienced that is similar— I had a mouse go goofy on me. It would decide to lock on the scroll all by itself and trying to post, copy paste, highlight—pffft!— a mess.
I kept holding off on getting a new mouse thinking maybe it is something else because things were so strange I thought surely a mouse couldn’t do all that.
I purchased a new mouse and the goofy went away, at least with my browsing. I’m still the same.
Never heard of them, off to check it out. Thanks, ‘Frog!
Interesting ... I use XP Pro and youtube says it will no longer support 7 ... soon .. (whatever THAT means)
Too bad I don’t still have my old IBM computer with OS2.
I bet nobody writes malicious code for OS2 and lynx.
