Posted on 07/10/2012 4:41:29 PM PDT by SunkenCiv
Explanation: What are these humans doing? Dancing. Many humans on Earth exhibit periods of happiness, and one method of displaying happiness is dancing. Happiness and dancing transcend political boundaries and occur in practically every human society. Above, Matt Harding traveled through many nations on Earth, planned on dancing, and filmed the result. The above video, the latest in a series of similar videos, is perhaps a dramatic example that humans from all over planet Earth feel a common bond as part of a single species. Happiness is frequently contagious -- few people are able to watch the above video without smiling.

Let me give it a chance for a sec...
No, it’s puke.
Apparantly the rocket scientists at NASA don't realize that the muslims of Afghanistan may very well put the girls in this picture to death if they can be identified.
Very nice, and fun. Thanks.
Here's an astronomy image of planet Earth.
If you look really close, you may see thousands of Earthlings dancing...
I enjoy APOD, but this makes me want to vomit. What good is NASA anymore?
Help Evaluate APOD: How do you access APOD?My evaluation of today's is, it sucks -- more of the Kenyan-born's Muzzie outreach in place of science.
And a derecho pummeling the crap out of the DC/VA/MD area!
VERY COOL! Thanks for posting.
What an amazing, incredible planet we have!
OK. Well. This ought to result in those HUMONGOUS space ships on the way to reach earth in November just revising their travel plans and allowing us to keep on dancing!
It is fun, I’m glad some kids in Afghanistan can still manage to dance with twenty pounds of unnecessary cloth wrapped around them, but it has Zero to do with astronomy or the APoD. :’) Thanks Red_Devil 232.
My pleasure, bigbog!
Our planet would be even more amazing and incredible if we were minus about 850 million Muzzies.
these people WOULD give peace a chance...but in many cases, their GOVERNMENT wouldn't.
Ghandi's non-violence worked against the British rule because the british had the capacity to feel remorse and shame for their actions. If Ghandi had tried that against Hitler, Stalin, etc., he would have been wiped out. That includes the leadership of North Korea.
“Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey! Pull that bus over to the side of the pretentiousness turnpike, alright!? I want everybody off the bus. I want the shiny people over here, and the happy people over here, ok! I represent angry gun-toting meat-eating people, alright!” Sit down and shut the
up Michael! - Dennis Leary
Mind you, it's not always pretty.
I note that the Syrian dancers had their faces obscured. And for good reason as that simple act could have put their life in danger with the local muzzie nut cases.
Also, I note with few exceptions, that all these “dances” are group movements with men and women rarely touching each other while dancing.
Well, when I was a young un we danced differently, and boys and girls actually touched each other!
ObamaNASA’s plan for improving the image of Islam.
For this, we ended manned space exploration.
HEY! Zoom in a bit, I think I see someone getting shot by a criminal in Chicago, IL.
Whoever owns the site “Astronomy Picture of the Day” is just hosting a video produced by this guy Matt who started out using his own money to travel around the world dancing with people. It is not sponsored NASA. He now gets some financing from some gum company. It does have something to do with the Planet Earth and the various people and cultures who occupy it.
We the taxpayers own Astronomy Picture of the Day.
I’ll take your word for it that Matt used his own money to travel to Afghanistan.
Thanks again Red_Devil 232.
Keep it to yourself.
I was ready to diss this as not APOD, but I found it incredibly moving.
May God not destroy freedom and joy from Earth, that is my prayer.
