LAS VEGAS (KSVN & MyNews3) -- Metro is reporting two chimpanzees got loose in the area of Rowland Ave., northeast of Ann Road and N. Jones Boulevard.
Metro reports that one chimpanzee has been captured and the other is still outstanding. Police are warning all residents in the area to stay inside.
Police have closed Ann Road from Jones Boulevard to Bradley Road and animal control officers are in the area searching for the second chimp.
Police have not said where the animals are from or where they came from. This is an ongoing story and News 3 will have more information as details become available.
Hope it isn’t Travis, the face-eating chimp.
Chimps are capable of causing serious harm.
I understand this chimp is quite good.
But outstanding?
Hardly.
I’ve watched “Outbreak” too many times. Good thing I’m stocked up on food and alcohol. I might be staying at home for a few days ;)

Sounds like more than just someone’s pets or escapees from the zoo. Is there a bio testing research lab in the area? Hope they haven’t been infected with ebola so something else dangerous.
I presume that’s from Sean Delonas, the modern-day William Hogarth.
If the loose chimps meet up with loose women, heaven knows what might ensue.
It might cause a monkey to monkey with another monkey’s monkey.
Those Vegas ladies need to remember, loose chimps sink pimps, lol.
“Sounds like more than just someones pets or escapees from the zoo. Is there a bio testing research lab in the area?”
In Las Vegas, the home of Siegfried and Roy and Wayne Newton’s mini zoo? That needed a “keyboard alert.”
I doubt they’d be shooting Siegfried’s monkey.
“loose chimps sink pimps”
LOL!
LOL. You know what they say- “What happens in Vegas....” I’m so glad I live in a guard gated community, have a 6 foot wall around my house, a German Shepherd and a few guns.
Las Vegas police say they had no choice but to kill one chimpanzee and tranquilize another after the agitated animals escaped a home. It's the (police) cars! They hate the cars!Officer Marcus Martin said that a caller reported a chimp atop a vehicle and another caller reported a primate banging on a police car after the escape was reported about 10 a.m. Thursday.
Martin said the chimps were very large and estimated they weighed 170 pounds or more.
Police sent out tweets calling the animal dangerous and urging residents to stay inside their cars or homes.
By noon, the chimps were both stopped. Video showed one of the animals lying face down in the middle of a road surrounded by animal control and police cars.
Clearly, these weren't ordinary chimps; they were Occupiers.
“Officer Marcus Martin said that a caller reported a chimp atop a vehicle and another caller reported a primate banging on a police car after the escape was reported about 10 a.m. Thursday.”
Sounds more like OWS to me...
