I never gotten into the whole Titanic story. But I admire the ship for its aesthetics and the technological marvel it was. Also, compared to today's cruise liners it has a wonderful elegance to it although the fourth funnel stack was a huge ornament. I would love to go on that ship and be an Edwardian for a few days. Although I would not suffer traveling in third class with the rabble, hee hee.

I wonder if they’ll try to dock at the old White Star Line pier in NYC?

From what I understand that ship is just not worth fixing to return to service. It may not even make financial sense as a hotel like the Queen Mary is.

I had read there was an effort to rejuvenate the vessel.

It doesnt make any difference. Todays captains will say they slipped and just happened to fall into a life boat.
I wouldnt go on that ship if I were given free passage.

Professionals built the Titanic, Amateurs built the Ark.

If the Chinese are building it you are more likely to die of lead poisoning after a day or two aboard anyway. ;-)

Maybe Mr. Clive Palmer should purchase a couple of airliners and call his company The Hindenburg II.

I will not argue that.

They might consider some life boats and a depth finder.

On third thought, he should buy himself some crematoriums around the world. His companys named would be Auschwitz II.
I am sorry folks. I am just too disgusted by someone making money off a huge tragedy so why stop at Titanic?
I am beginning to wipe tears.

It depends on which “china” it’s being built in... RoC, or PRC?

From what I remember the SS-U.S. basically tried to fill a niche that dried up. They went for speed over all-out luxury and the trans atlantic air services made their product obsolete. Once that happened they didn't have the max-luxury to fall back on.

Made in China. That’s all you need to know.

You’re essentially correct.
As someone who crossed the Pacific six times, (a two week journey) I would’ve appreciated more speed.
