During 1969/1970 I lived in Heilbronn, near Hockenheimring, and visited often. Saw 1970 German Grand Prix, but stadiums and course different, then.

Stadium included dirt mound, where concrete stands are today.

Course included long fast straights through forest, instead of chicanes, barriers, clearings, etc.

People would sit on fences, in trees, to watch.

I think the aero downforce is so great they can’t get off the ground?

i guess that's possible, but if they did manage to get off the ground, they might fly for quite a way too

remember the design flaw with cars going airborne at Le Mans a few years ago....think it was Mercedes.

Thanks for the link...but for Firefox it takes a "plug-in of questionable repute"!   ;-)

“VLC” plug-in? But then I found a “sub-page” of your link with “Flash” streams...they would work, but after 25 years in the TV business I am not a big fan of copyright-busting feeds. Left recently when the company went bankrupt. Anyway here is the F1 “sub-page”: http://www.vipbox.tv/sports/formula-1.html
