See the Speech That Got a Standing Ovation in Congress Today (Mike Kelly delivers again)
The Blaze ^ | 7/26/2012 | Mytheos Holt

Representative Mike Kelly, speaking on the House floor today, managed something very rare in the history of the institution – he got a standing ovation. Applause is usually forbidden in the house, but Kelly‘s blistering attack on regulatory red tape and Washington’s culture of control was apparently so powerful that several of his fellow house members couldn’t resist showing their support, clapping, standing up and shouting “USA! USA! USA!”

Would you applaud this way? See Kelly’s speech below and decide for yourself:

He’s absolutely correct, but there’s always some jerk who thinks sticking his finger in someone’s business is going to somehow make him more electable. I say: Throw the bums out!

Words are merely sound waves.

Wake me up when they de-fund anything non-military.

Wake ME up when they have the stones to completely defund Mengelecare.
...Which they can do anytime they want.

That speech by Mike Kelly was awesome. Even though he only had 5 minutes he really drove the point’s home. Regulations are killing business, regulations restricting who a business can hire (affirmative action), regulations closing down coal fired electric generation plants, regulations causing increase in electric rates because the power company is not using enough “green energy” produced energy, and regulations concerning ethanol (which uses more fuel to produce 1 gallon of ethanol, wow what a savings oh, negative savings)

So that’s what testicles look like on a republican.

I just turned 49 and it has been a LONG time since I have seen any politician stand up to the the monstrosity that the federal government has mutated into. We need to figure out how to clone that man and replace the the cowering wimps that always seem to get elected.

Kelly drove it home. Couldn’t open a million dollar ball field because the bathroom mirrors were a quarter inch too high. fugginUnbelievable!

Speeches like that are like an oasis in the desert, but what Congress really needs is what the British Parliament has -PMQ - Prime Minister Questions.

Kelly’s speech will not be aired by the alphabet media. But if majority and minority leaders in the House and Senate had a verbal fisticuff like the Brits’ PMQ the media would be forced to air it for entertainment and ratings alone.

The voters would actually get to see opposing viewpoints instead of lazy boilerplate rhetoric.

Mark Levin wants to shake up and transform Congress. I sent this idea to him and hope it gets some traction.

I just received this freepmail, so I’m passing it on.
Can anybody confirm that this guy Kelly is just another bag of hot air?:
_________________________________________________________

On six recent votes, Kelly voted for big government every time:

•He voted against an amendment that would have terminated the Economic Development Administration.
•He voted against an amendment that would have defunded the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Consortia program, a new corporate welfare program requested by the Obama administration.
•He voted to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank.
•He voted against an amendment that would have terminated the Essential Air Service subsidy program.
•He voted against an amendment that would have shut down the Department of Energy’s Title 17 loan guarantee program—the program that gave birth to Solyndra.
•He voted against an amendment that would have terminated the Community Development Block Grant program.

So much for voting to “reduce the size and scope of government.”

Who paid for that million dollar ball field? Did they use eminenet domaine to get the land? We opened an thirty million dollar ball field in York, PA, half of it was dourtesy of the taxpayers of Pennsylvania, and we fought long and hard to keep local taxpayer money out of it.
Let’s keep all of that in perspective. Maybe this guy is just being a typical politician.

I'll second that motion. But then one can view the thread two down by L. Howard (#25) on the Reps' recent voting record. If true it puts a damper upon the highlighted speech. Perhaps I will make the time to look into the voting record eluded to.
Perhaps there where parts of the bills that he found warranted to at least not completely kill. Perhaps not.

Don’t really know the guy. Not my congressman.

Sure hope he isn’t our version of James Trafficant - lol.

Beam me up, Scotty!

P.S. Don’t worry about your overwrought spelling errors.
