Why Iím Voting for Mitt Romney and Why You Should Too
godfatherpolitics.com ^ | 7/27/2012 | Gary DeMar

Posted on 07/27/2012 3:37:16 PM PDT by Signalman

The first reason is easy: Barack Obama. It is shocking to think that a Marxist could ever be president of the United States. But it happened. People always ask, “How could those people have sat back while ________________ came to power. That could never happen here.” Well, it did happen here. As a nation, we sat back and let Barack Obama win in 2008, and look at what we got. Granted, John McCain was not much of an alternative.

Some people might argue that the reason I don’t like Barack Obama is because he’s black. There’s no truth it. There are a number of black people I would love to see sitting in the White House, not because the’yre black, but because their worldview is right.

In fact, it’s the white half of Obama that I don’t like. How could his mother, who is white, associate with so many self-avowed Marxists? Didn’t she know how socialist, Marxist, and fascist policies have destroyed nations? Didn’t she realize that it was socialism and Marxism that has kept much of Africa in poverty? Let’s not forget Cuba, North Korea, East Germany and East Berlin, and the former Soviet Union. The facts are there for anyone to see.

Surely she had some idea of how the supposed Great Society programs that became law under Lyndon Johnson have wrecked the black family, turned the poor into a dependent voting-block that is beholden to a single political party with the result that the Democrat Party takes blacks for granted and the Republican Party ignores blacks because it has almost no chance of getting their vote.

Blacks have been duped by blacks. You don’t have to be in chains to be a slave, and there are more blacks in slavery today than there were in the 1850s.

If Romney wins, there will be a coattail effect, but not if disgruntled conservatives and Paulians stay home. This means that we can beef-up the conservative votes in the House and Senate. If we don’t get behind Romney, it’s almost assured that we will lose congressional seats.

Some will say that Romney’s just like Obama. That’s nonsense. Is Romney as conservative as I would like to see in a candidate? No. But he’s more conservative now than when he was governor of Massachusetts. The primary forced him to the right. Will he remain as conservative as his recent rhetoric seems to indicate? I don’t know. That’s why we need a strong Congress to put a brake on any broken-promise policies.

There are lots of people who believe Ron Paul’s going to get the nomination at the convention. It’s not going to happen. If it were to happen, he would lose bigger in November than Barry Goldwater lost to Johnson in 1964. Paul gave it a good shot. Did he get revolution started? That remains to be seen. But he didn’t win. Get over it for this election.

Romney’s been going on the attack. His comments on Obama’s “You didn’t build that” speech was fiery and passionate. This conversation with Brian Williams encouraged me that Romney’s not afraid to take on the media and doesn’t need a teleprompter. An exchange that Romney had with Brian Williams of NBC News was priceless. Williams, apparently reading from a script, asked Romney if it was true that he’s looking for an “incredibly boring white guy” to be his vice-president. Here was Romney’s reply: “You told me you were not available.” All Williams could say was, “Touche.”

These two encounters might not mean much, but they can be tipping points in an election. They give confidence to Romney, and they put the media on notice that they’re dealing with someone who’s not afraid to fight back without being nasty. Let’s be clear: The media are a fifth column. They’re going to do everything they can to get Obama re-elected. They can’t admit that they made a huge mistake in 2008.

The majority of Americans aren’t as conservative as most readers of this website. We’re still dealing with an electorate that’s on the government dole. They need Obama to win. There’s not much that’s going to change that except a national collapse. There are a lot of people who think that would be a great idea. It would be horrific. No one will come to our aid.

I don’t believe in messianic politics. I don’t believe any candidate is going to save us. Many of the problems our nation faces were created by us. We’re government drunkards. Too many of us like government programs that benefit us while we rail against programs that don’t. If you send your children to government (public) schools, you’re on the dole. You might not like hearing that, but it’s true. You’re not paying what it really costs. You’re using some of your neighbor’s money.

If we play this election right, Romney will give us a chance to right the ship of State. Liberals aren’t afraid of making small gains. We didn’t lose this nation in one election; we’re not going to get it back in one election.

There's at least one reason to vote for Romney in November. Some would argue that there's more than one reason.A few might even argue that there are many reasons. But the one that all sane, reasonable Americans would agree on:

HE'S NOT OSAMA OBAMA!

If you vote for Obama, you get a lying, baby-killing statist. If you vote for Romney you get a lying, baby-killing statist. Either way you get a lying, baby-killing statist.

I’m writing in Palin at the top spot. Pure, republican ticket up & down, and also pure conservative.

Voting against Obama

Here’s a discourse of the anti-Romney posters on Free Republic:

I’m supporting Michelle Bachman.
What! Bachman supports Romney! She’s a rino

I’m supporting Newt Gingrich.
What! Gingrich supports Romney! He’s certainly a rino

I’m supporting Cain.
What! Cain supports Romney! I guess he’s lost it too.

I’m supporting Rick Perry!
What! Perry supports Romney! What an idiot!

I’m supporting Santorum.
What! Santorum supports Romney. He must have fallen, too

At least I have Palin.
What! Palin says that she’ll support the republican candidate! She’s wacky.
http://video.foxnews.com/v/1485700048001/palin-anybody-but-obama/

At least we have Limbaugh. . . .don’t we?
No???

So, they change their logic: “You know, all these posters on FR who are going to vote for Romney are actually Democrats or Rhinos. Let’s rip them to shreds.”

You need to update your understanding of Romney's position on the issues.: http://www.mittromney.com/issues/

He has stated a conservative position. Obama has demonstrated the opposite and wants four more years to compete the job he has started.
You’all need to get off your high horse and take pity on yourselves and your children.

Yes, that’s a bad quote. And I don’t agree with much of what Romney supports, but I don’t agree with 99.9% of the things that Obama supports. I can give you quotes to make your blood curl from Obama. So, let’s get the guy out of office and deal with Romney from the Senate and Congress.

Just think of all the great things President Romney will be able to push through a GOP controlled Congress.

I’m sure he, Boehnor, McConnell, McCain, and Graham can come up with some great legislation. Maybe they can rehash some of Romney’s old Mass favorites like Romneycare, gay marriage, weapons bans, or cap & trade.

Perhaps Senator Rubio could lead the “comprehensive” immigration reform.

Having Romney with a rubber stamp spineless GOP congress sounds like a great idea. I wouldn’t want those in the GOP dominated Congress of 2012 to have to be in the position of opposing the Democrats and Obama. Sometimes that makes for awkward moments at the cocktail parties.

You’re first mistake was going to his website. Before he came out for amnesty, it sure as hell wasn’t on his website. Remember how he was bashing Newt for wanting amnesty? How he was all in favor of Arizona’s immigration law? And then, suddenly, he says later he didn’t mean he was in favor of Arizona’s law but only one aspect of it, and now he wants amnesty for young illegal aliens? You should consider all his public positions as “suggestions” until he comes out with a position before or after he is elected. And even then, it’s subject to change, though it can only get more liberal as time goes on.

Just like Obama.

Please explain how this position is any different from the ABOs “If you don’t vote for Romney you’re really an Obama supporter”.

Thanks.

My main fear is that Obama will get re-elected and continue with a quadrennium of executive privileges and leading us to become a third world country.

I supported many of the candidates listed in an earlier post: Newt, Santorum, Cain, but they did not “make the cut.”

If I don’t vote against Obama, I would betray my sense of right and wrong. I know each of us have their own reasons to vote for whom they want. That’s our right as citizens of this great nation. My prayer is that conservatives will gain a stronger majority in the house and a majority in the Senate. If Romney tries to “rino us to death,” (Or further debt) they must get in his face and say, “Not with us, Mr. President.”

I am not passionate about Romney, I’m just passionate about kicking O out of office.

By the way, thanks for the question—it may not be the answer you want, but it is from my belief in what I should do.

If Romney wins, Conservatism dies. Dead. Over. It will NEVER recover. Once the elite get that moron as the head of the Party, then they will ignore us even more than they do now. A Romney victory over Obama is merely Pyrrhic.

Many here do not fully appreciate the unmitigated disaster it would be. The fight will be over.

"You’all need to get off your high horse and take pity on yourselves and your children."

How about what Mitt wants to do to children? This is what he said in May, only two months ago:

"And that if two people of the same gender want to live together, want to have a loving relationship and even want to adopt a child, in my state, individuals of the same sex were able to adopt children. In my view, that’s something which people have the right to do. "

I saw a picture here on FR of some sodomite festival in San Francisco. Two "fathers" had their adopted toddler with them; the child was wearing a leather bondage outfit. Romney wants to condemn kids to a perverted existence like that. He says that's just dandy, but he doesn't think they should marry. Now tell me: where's the logic? And please tell me how noting Romney's liberal, twisted opinion on this issue is "being on a high horse." Are YOU okay with that?
