Hello everyone,

I was wondering about something. I wanted to watch the opening ceremonies of the olympics on the BBC. Does anyone know the link? I went on the BBC website but couldn't manage it. Thank you so much.

They make it very difficult to watch other countries’ coverage, NBC spent a lot of money to show the Games, they sure don’t want people going somewhere else to watch them.

Unless you live in the UK, or can spoof a UK IP address, you’d have better luck streaming footage of an real alien abduction I’m afraid.

The IOC has all of that stuff on a hard lock-down.

I dont have cable or else I could stream it from NBC.com, so I’m just looking at whatever YouTube clips I can grab.

If you *can* spoof a UK IP address, perhaps by using a VPN, then http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/tv is the place to go.

Any way to watch them online—even recorded/delayed? I don’t have cable or dish, so I can’t watch them on NBC’s commie site.

We are the most powerful nation on the face of the planet and Ralph Lauren dressed our athletes like French flight attendants.

I should say—I want to watch all the events, not just the opening ceremonies. I like the sorts that NBC won’t show during primetime—archery, badminton, judo, etc.

” We have annoying NBC hosts.”

Understatement of the decade. I couldn’t stand one minute from a northeast, condescending liberal like Costas.

Annoying seems a lot like infuriating. Where is the wisdom in NBC using its monopoly to infuriate those with any interest in the Olympics? I guess if you are either Masochistic or a big Costas fan — same thing??

Say what you will, but tonight Costas gave huge kudos to Romney for his role in the 2002 Winter Games, going as far to say that he saved the games.

You know Obama won't be happy about that.

Some excerpts/comments about the ceremony. I’m still scratching my head and going “WTH” was that?

Aidan Burley, a lawmaker from Prime Minister David Cameron’s ruling Conservative party, tweeted: “The most leftie opening ceremony I have ever seen — more than Beijing, the capital of a communist state! Welfare tribute next?” He followed that with: “Thank God the athletes have arrived! Now we can move on from leftie multi-cultural crap.” Several people tweeted their support for his comments.

Theme music from “The Exorcist”, followed by:
A celebration of Socialized Medicine, followed by:
Scary villains from children’s literature, chiefly Lord Voldemort, followed by:
The arrival of Mary Poppins singing “A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down”, followed by:
Theme music from the wonderful Christian film “Chariots of Fire” — which was rudely mocked and made fun of.
Where are we going? And why am I in this hand-basket??

What was presented to one billion people as a representative sample of the contributions and development of British culture, is an extremely limited, stunted and biased selective history. This is exactly what our modern godless, amoral educational and academic elite have done to us for the last 60 years in the west. And it is extremely demoralizing.

Would there be any presentation of Britain’s contribution to representative government? What of the success of her former colonies, Australia,India, the United States? In any field imaginable, science, Law, Education, literature, the positive contribution of the British people to the benefit of the modern world has been immense.
But when given the chance, to tell the British story to an audience of one billion, the Olympic opening was a sad disappointment.

The beginning was promising, rightly acknowledging Britain’s Christian roots, in the beautiful singing of hymns appropriate to the four fold Kingdom of Ireland,England, Scotland and Wales.

We went from there to a cleverly choreographed reconstruction of the Industrial revolution, with an implied labor Capitol struggle, and four ugly smokestacks belching noxious fumes. Women’s suffrage was then acknowledged, and about ten minutes was devoted to the Britain’s National Health Service.

We then moved into British literary characters from Peter Pan to Mary Poppins to characters from the Harry Potter series. The finale was a heavily choreographed tribute to pop music and the amoral youth culture that grew out of it.

I wiah I could watch their version. Apparently we missed two good sections here in the U.S. so they could interview athletes. And we had to listen to announcers explain what we were seeing like we were idiots.

I thought they were explaining how bad the NHS was? They show the nice NHS doctors putting kids in their beds, and then there’s this big nightmare, the kids are attacked, evil creatures come up from the dark, and Mary Poppins has to save the kids from the NHS nightmare.
