PETA takes 'bets' on when senator (R) will die after objection to USDA vegetarian push

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has started taking "bets" on its website over when Sen. Charles Grassley will die, after the Iowa Republican scolded the Department of Agriculture for advocating a vegetarian diet.

The USDA drew the ire of rural state lawmakers over a newsletter urging department employees to embrace "Meatless Mondays." The USDA later retracted the newsletter and said it wasn't properly vetted, but Grassley vented on Twitter that he plans to "eat more meat on Monday to compensate for stupid USDA recommendation."

Why is PETA even allowed to operate in the U.S.A.? They openly advocate (albeit indirectly) treasonous policies. PETA needs to go away...

Well, I do mean the ones with political power. They get their money from farm interests, I GET THAT. But Ethanol would be LONG GONE if it were not for the Republicans from that part of the country.

It just upsets me that the rest of the country has to pay the price.

As for an example - this story. It’s a big-ag Republican complaining about food policy. He’s right, but I’d rather have a disinterested Republican doing the complaining.

But like I said before, the Food Stamp stuff that those Republicans support is SICKENING.

“Remember, there are surprising few things that separate us from the lowliest of the Fourth World countries and the ability to feed ourselves...well...is one of them.”

I don’t have a problem with farmers, although they do tend to complain a hell of a lot (i.e. Farm-Aid Concerts and such). My problem is with Republicans that know better, but still have to answer to them.

Anyone with a car over 10 years old knows EXACTLY what I mean when I say “Ethanol”. So do those Republicans. And soon, based on what’s going on, even 5 year old cars will start having problems as the amount of alcohol in gasoline continues to climb.

Can we really do that? Have you looked into what makes up our tractors and combines today? No, once China pulls the plug on us, and our machines start to break down, IT’S OVER.

...but do we care. Naaa.

It seems to me that Obummer is the one pushing ethanol.

Pubbies seem to be pushing “drill, drill, drill”

The Republicans OWN the House, they could stop this crap...but they choose otherwise. Ethanol is bipartisan, it didn’t start with Obama and it won’t end with Obama.

That’s what annoys me - the Republicans can come together on lots of issue, but if it’s screwing the country because of farm-state interests, they’ll do it.
