After Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy made public remarks that the chain does not support gay marriage, Sara McNamara put down her last Chick-fil-A sandwich and got to work.
"I started an online petition to prevent a second Chick Fil A from coming to the College of Charleston campus. It's a slap in the face," said McNamara, a lesbian who says she's appalled by Cathy's words.
Plans are already in the works to bring a second Chick Fil A to campus in Berry Residence Hall. A C of C spokesperson told Live 5 News construction is already under way and it will open in the fall.
McNamara has already gathered 319 signatures. The Facebook group titled "College of Charleston students and friends against homophobic Chick Fil A" already has over 700 members. She plans to present the petition to College of Charleston leaders after school starts.
Some students said they might not agree with Cathy's statement, but they don't see it as a good enough reason to keep it off campus.
"Their opinion on gay marriage has nothing to do with making my food," said an incoming freshmen.
Another man said the whole thing has been blown out of proportion, and Cathy should use this as a learning experience.
"It's already negatively affecting his business. It was a dumb move on his part. A very bad P. R. move."
The college said they are waiting to get the petition in their hands before making a decision.

What does Sarah think about Muslim owned businesses???? Does she know that Muslims consider homosexuality a crime??? Does she know that lesbians such as herself can be executed in Muslim theocracies??????
If the issue is that we should not give business licenses to businesses which do not endorese the homosexual agenda, then, by definition, Sarah must support denying business licenses to Muslim owned businesses.
Sarah must also favor banning oil imports from Muslim countries.
Though we can’t expect good liberals such as Sarah to be consistent in their criteria for judging the situation, she may think about what other businesses should be denied the right to exist, because they don’t meet politically correct criteria.
This will be the cause of the year on every college campus and other places.

Absolutely. I’m sure it was one of several factors in my earlier-than-planned exit from my employer of almost 30 years (although it lead directly to early retirement & I’m lovin’ it...living well is the best revenge).

If you profess to believe in the Bible as the Word of God, then I have a newsflash for you. Homesexuality is sinful. There are BILLIONS of people who profess belief in God and believe that the Bible is the Word of God.
If you chose to live in your little world and condemn everyone who doesn’t approve of your morals, then you need to get a tougher skin. Cause there are MILLIONS of us who know that homosexuality is wrong in the sight of God.
If you choose to believe that God is a fantasy, and that you evolved from a primordial ooze... good luck in continuing your species.

A good friend manages a local CFA. She said sales are definitely up in the last few weeks. Pre-orders for Wednesday are at record levels. They have ordered extra food for the expected deluge on Wednesday.
Who else wants to boycott Chick Fil A? Know that everytime you liberals boycott CFA it just drives the majority of us to support CFA. I’ll betcha the other fast food restaurants are ready for the CFA boycott to end so that they can recoup some of their losses.

What these smarmy little MARXISTS don’t understand is, they are giving Chick-Fil-A a LOT of free advertising.
Their little petitions and protests amount to nothing. It’s like a BB rolling around inside a freight train car. It may be there but nobody notices it.

Are there any conservative or Christian groups on campus that could start a counter petition. Let them collect signatures saying that they support Chik-Fil-A and they are appalled at the totalitarian tactics being used to silence a company who shares their values.
Well that goes both ways. Personally I don’t think there is one liberal that is better at his job than a conservative. And with the employment situation as it is, there are plenty of conservatives in all fields available. So a businessman has exactly zero excuse for hiring people whose political philosophy is at odds with the existence of the capitalist system.
Any conservative knowingly hiring a liberal DESERVES to go out of business.
