I caught a treasure trove of pix in just a couple of days last week including ...
... The Dirty Dozen, Marty, From Here to Eternity (all honoring Earnest Borgnine), Desert Fox, Best Years of Our Lives.
Ted Turner is a whacko, but I love TCM.

I saw “Best Years of Our Lives” for the 10th time again last week. It has to be one of the best movies ever made. Maye the best.

I'll bet I've seen it 50 times - and as 'Nam vet, I can relate to a lot of what transpires.
It has to be in my top 5 of all time.

This was the first version of this movie. Starring Chester Morris and Lucille Ball. The remake was called Back from Eternity, starring Robert Ryan and Anita Ekberg. And the original Star Trek used the plot for an episode titled The Galileo Seven. Interesting in that Desilu Studios were the producers of Star Trek.

This appears to be the first of three movies with the same theme. I’ve never seen this version. I’ll give it a try.

I've never seen it either; apparently you can't get it on dvd.

I remember the one with Rod Steiger, Back from Eternity on TV as a kid. The ending still stuck in my mind
