As for this writing, America has TIED China in number of gold medals won at 18, however, the USA has the MOST overall medals at 37, with China second at 34. Japan is a distant third at 19.

I agree with this. However...

The Chinese Olympic Gold Medalist 110 Meter hurdler, LIU XIANG is still a formidable athlete and could win gold this year.



And with the Jamaicans in our way, I just hope we can win enough gold in T&F to hold the Chinese tally at bay.

True, but there are too many events, and we have too much talent. (I believe) Look for women’s 110m hurdles, men’s 400m, men’s 4x400m, decathlon, women’s 400m, women’s 4x400m, and maybe some field events also.

I am looking forward to the women’s marathon. We have 4 awesome ladies there: Flanagan, Davila, Goucher and Hastings. I’ll be rooting for Kara Goucher!

I just hope we win the overall medal count. I don’t like the Chicoms or the treatment of their own people.

I’ll root for Goucher as well then.

She’s an awesome lady. Think about this, she’s qualified for the Olympic team less than 2 years after having a baby!
