There's an online alternative that's commercial free, more international in scope and does not feature Ryan Seacrest.
It's at the BBC website, where the British broadcaster streams the Games live and offers clips in high-quality video just a tantalizing click away.

PC Magazine: How to Watch the Olympics Online Without Cable
Yes. It works well.
I have used vpn services to access both American and British regional controlled content.
For those who love the olympics for the sport, and not fabricated soap opera drama, the BBC is the way to go.
Though, I thought NBC also has a good online streaming service?
You don’t even need to use vpn services. Plenty of direct weblinks showing the BBC. I am currently watching the velodrome cycling on the BBC on a simple weblink.
The BBC actually uses Michael Johnson and John McEnroe as some of their major studio pundits.
Both doing an excellent job I might add.
U.S. Olympic broadcasts have been atrocious for so long I cannot remember a time that I enjoyed one.
if you go to NBC’s olympic website you can watch every event streaming on line- both live and replay,....presently i have cycling on the computer and its terrific....i watched both the mens and womens gymnastics individual titles and you can also find stuff you get only a taste of on NBC (full match of judo gold medalist Kyla Harrison w/the medal ceremony)....some events no announcers, others British announcers..
oy, hoot mann, wat you be on about?
In Iraq we had a private security detail out of Britain. Every now and then I'd get on a team that had a Scotsman on it. He'd talk, I'd look at a Brit who would tell me what the Scotsman had said...
..I spent 3 years in the UK....took me months to understand the Cockney accent...
Speaking of Olympic coverage, what ever happened to knowing exactly which countries have judges and how the individual judges score events?
I remember the days when finding the bias judge was part of the fun.
