As you said you are an agnostic I have to ask you this question. Since you doubt God then all emotions and feelings can be boiled down to simple chemical reactions in the brain. If this is true then the purpose of sex is to gurantee the survival of the species. Since two males or two females cannot reproduce then you must admit that they are either denying their natural drive to create or are mentally or physicall ill. If this is true then is it not inhumane to not treat them, or even worse encourage their ill behavior?
