NBC has become the centre of a race storm after airing an ad featuring a monkey performing gymnastics, right after showing the performance of Gabby Douglas, the first African-American to win Olympic gold. The network has since apologised for the advert's poor timing, explaining: 'No offense was intended.'

What goes around, comes around.
Oh gosh! How IGNORANT! No one in their right mind would have even thought along those lines about the darling little girl who is the gymnast. HOW VERY, VERY IGNORANT!!
The real ex-pro NFL guys on Inside the NFL used to really ridicule him at times for his pomposity and know it all airs about a game he never played. They would deliberately slide down in their seats so as not to tower over the little peckersniffer.
I bet you could count the number who saw it on two hands
And if Fox did that, Media Matters would be calling to have them off the air.
While doing that is great, I found that it's best to very quietly savor the moment.
Why do these morons keep doing the same things over and over then expect that an apology is going to work? I think not. Over the past decade or two they’ve consistently put their collective feet in their mouths and then go on to say, “Sorry, our bad”?
From Rules For Men: "If it turns out that you were correct during a family argument, apologize at once."

It didn't go down God's memory hole though. Afterwards, the NBC "anchorman" (I don't care to know his name) remarked that even though we had a black "president" blah blah blah that maybe Gabby inspired other African Americans to be gymnasts...............
contrarily, I prayed that more people would be inspired from when she said 'praise went up to God, and the Blessings came down.'
Im thinking its the one who equated Gabby to a monkey who is the racist.
I agree. Anyone who saw the commercial (or whatever) and thought it was Gabby after she came on later is clearly a jerk and racist.
I saw it live, never had a moments thought about it, but leave it to the racist media scum to make that connection .

“Doncha love it when you prove your spouse wrong?!”
I can hear it now: “One more time and you’re on the couch, buster!” LOL.
“Gabbys first interview after winning all-around gold was a lovely tribute to God. NBC tossed it down the memory hole.”
I never heard a network person make a single acknowledgement of her repeated references to God as her inspiration and means of staying focused.
Why?
You nailed it!
Was it like MSNBC (or was it CNN?) playing Stupid Girls prior to a Sarah Palin story? Oh, just a coincidence. I would happily punch someone for saying anything insulting about Gabby.
