LSU has dismissed Heisman Trophy finalist Tyrann Mathieu from its football program for violating school and team rules.
"We extended ourselves personally and professionally to him," LSU coach Les Miles said at a news conference Friday. "He has really improved and has a chance to take some steps as a person.

What’d he do?
Reading between the lines, it sounds like he flunked a second drug test and, under zero tolerance policies, Miles’ hands were tied.
It’s a shame because he’s so talented.
He has two years of eligibility remaining and he can choose to go down to an FCS school and play this season or transfer to a major college program and sit out a year before resuming play.
There’s also the chance he could play some type of semi-pro or go to Canada or something but there’s a possibility he could get injured and lose any remaining draft potential if that happens.

I wouldnt worry about it. LSU, just like most of the SEC, has plenty of booster money to slide under the table to the next football phenom.
This should be real simple: do what is required and do what you’re told to do. Why so many young men have difficulty with this when the rewards are enormous is puzzling.
My conclusion: stupid is as stupid does.
They seem to have a mentality that because they are a “star” the rules do not apply to them.
If they get a pass on their academic tests with zero effort, why wouldn’t they think they would also get a pass on their drug tests after partaking?
Who did FSU lose?
Brent Mussberger will be devastated.
I thought a criminal act was a career enhancement for LSU players.
