Dolphins receiver Chad Johnson was arrested Saturday on a domestic violence charge, accused of head-butting his newlywed wife during an argument in front of their home outside Miami.

Johnson and his wife, Evelyn Lozada, were at dinner and she confronted him about a receipt she had found for a box of condoms, said Davie police Capt. Dale Engle. The argument got heated and continued on the drive home, he said.

When they arrived in their driveway in Davie, the 34-year-old Johnson head-butted Lozada, she told police. Lozada, who is on the reality show, "Basketball Wives," was treated at a hospital for a cut to her forehead, Engle said.

Rule One When Married: If needing condoms, it is better to shop-lift them, so there will be no paper trail. (kidding)

In some cultures, head-butting is a sign of affection...

Nice job, Champ.

Seriously, why do people watch drooling idiots like this? OK, fine, you’re a football fan. Pick a team near your home and actually turn out a cheer them on in the old-fashioned, hometown sort of way. Way better return for your time in ways the ad people can’t imagine.Heck, our hometown Aces can’t even whip their nemisis the nearby Mudhens but they beat the living hell out of a bunch of drug addled, thug professional jackasses any day of the year.

What is it with these football players? Then you have this guy who was involved with a dom. violence incident with his wife...and we know what happened a couple years later...

NY Times, 6/18/94, about 5 days after the murder:
>>The Los Angeles District Attorney prosecuting the murder case against O. J. Simpson today described the handling of a domestic violence charge against the football star five years ago as "a joke, a terrible joke."

"It sure seems like he got special treatment," the District Attorney, Gil Garcetti, said at a news conference here.

According to police records released Thursday, Mr. Simpson beat his wife, Nicole, so badly on Jan. 1, 1989, that she required treatment at a hospital. The records also portray her as terrified for her life.

Someday a coach will realize that a guy like this with lots of talent, a horrible attitude, and personal problems is never worth the problems they bring with them. This is coming from a guy with lots of sports experience. It just ain’t worth it, get a man that’s a little above average with a work ethic and drive, you’ll come out ahead.

LOL. Chad and his wife were very prominent in the first episode of Hard Knocks last Tuesday. He said he paused “Call of Duty” for her and when you pause Call of Duty for a woman, you know she’s the one, and they were very lovey-dubby in front of the cameras.

Funny to see how they show this now.

The Dolphins were sure quick to dump him over this. What a sad waste of talent.
