Word For The Day, August 14, 2012
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
1. Conveying meaning by hint, euphemism, innuendo, or the like.
2.Pertaining to, or characteristic of Aesop or his fables.
[187075; < Late Latin Aesōpi ( us ) + -an]
Here we are.
Wherever you go, there you are.
about @!#$ time ya slacker.
The Lyin’ King has added to the aesopian notion that small business owners “Didn’t build that” the ridiculous notion that Luck is the deciding factor in success.
Meanwhile, Barack's DC is a fractured fairy tale.
Statism, failure Utopian
O promotes with his fables, Aesopian
With the rich there to fleece
USA becomes Greece
Headed straight down the tubes (non-Fallopian)
I’m sorry, is this Sen. Wyden saying he isn’t a sponsor of legislation with his name on it?
slick move that.
In his typical Aesopian manner, Obama “praised” Romney’s running mate as a good man, then in the next breath dismissed Ryan’s budget as a “fairy tale”.
Of course, by now we all know how adept he is at spinning fables...
Does anyone outside of airport travelers with no access to a remote control even watch CNN? One of my crazy friends from work loves Anderson Cooper but I can’t understand the reason.
My hockey buddy from Buffalo has predicted the season will be delayed until November at the earliest. I told him that’s because he’ll be at the beach all of October.
xsteen has texted me from airports just ranting bc she was being forced to listen to CNN at the gate. it’s an abomination. I understand that Wolf Blitzer decimated DWS yesterday on the medicare stuff, and so that is good, that will be seen by airport travelers etc, that Fox will never reach. CNN=USA TODAY, free in public places like airports and hotels.
Like others, the O-team got to this guy and he was forced to recall his support. Happens daily with our dictator-in-chief.
My compadre trusted a customer who turned out to ba an ass-I hope this day gets better-so far, it sucks-
Obama and his many minions
Make speeches so aesopian
Selling bread and circuses-
That’s their idea of utopian
Fortunately, a lot of voters-
Smarter than the average bear
Are sick of the muddy rhetoric
And really just don’t care
And some single college girls
Want birth control for free?
Don’t have sex ‘til you can pay-
There is no sympathy from me
Erskine Bowles....Endorsing Ryan, and the Budget....
No. This is Wyden doing something even scummier.
He’s trying to confuse the original Ryan budget with their proposal...
I guess the Crack Staff at the NYTImes was out to torpedo Wyden, a year ahead of time.
saw that. needs to be in an ad. or is it already?
That and the Clinton tape where he told Ryan he hopes the dems don’t screw things up.
I like it.
On the lighter side I like this as a commercial
The One Where Eats Dog
Lately I’ve been thinking of 0bama as like the boy who discovered a small leak in a dike and put his finger on the problem.
However, unlike that self-sacrificing and heroic boy, 0bama has decided that the same circumstance should be considered a “shovel-ready” job, and is busy digging into it to find the root of the problem.
