Who is responsible for damage caused by Akin's fiasco? Willard Mitt Romney, the GOP-e, Ann Coulter and the lap dog conservative establishment types

Yah know, can you Kazan show me the picture where Romney has the gun up to Akin's head when Akin stated "legitimate rape".

You can't, but what the heck, you are in denial, and that's not the river in Egypt.

No matter how much you go Saul Alinsky on Todd Akin...he is staying in

Real Conservatives and the Pro-Life supporters are supporting Akin fully. Not just in Missouri, but around the nation.

Real grass roots conservatives do not get their political beliefs from Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Mark Levin, or even Rush Limbaugh. Real Conservatives were conservative before those people were ever around. They do not need a GOPe media wonk to tell them what, or how, to think

As I have mentioned in other posts, the Pro-Abort Liberal wing of the GOP would have run out the famous conservative who said “trees cause more pollution than factories”.

I just want to see the strategy for winning this race if Akin withdraws

Akin has already lost, one could have Mickey Mouse win against Clair Mccaskill and her record.

Unfortunately, Akin gave his first impression, and it was not a good one(legitimate rape, etc.).

please, listen to this guy?

It little matters now. Time to let dead dogs lie. He came out 3 hours ago and said he ain’t goin’. I take him at his word.
If you know any old line PCA you will understand. But again, Todd Akin is the Republican candidate for Senator from Missouri.

And those of us here in Missouri will vote for him because the alternative is nightmarish. Mother McCaskill will only bring us tax hikes, gun bans, and Kenya-Care. It is who she is... “

///
Romney IS our candidate. and SO IS AKIN.
-
I have to hold my nose, and vote for (moderate) Romney.
people like you, need to get behind (inarticulate) Akin.

...NEITHER of us are happy.
but it’s time for teamwork.
-
Romney WILL win in a landslide.
and Akin is still much better than McCaskill,
and he CAN still win.
(...but not if people like you, continue to help McCaskill,
instead of helping the REPUBLICAN).
“because the alternative is nightmarish. “
(which is the ONLY reason i’m voting for Romney...).
-
didn’t Reagan have a great saying about unity?
time we ALL start supporting ALL our candidates.

Sorry but look in the mirror, Todd Akin is Saul Alinsky, since he handed the Missouri seat to Clair McCaskill with his words.

Akin is the only GOP politico who says more than 3 words about abortion. The rest are following Romney the abortionist. Like we are going to get a super majority in the senate to override filibusters by the dems. Go Akin. Semper Fi.

I am sorry that comment did require a 'sarcasm' tag didn't it.

My mistake - there are just so many people defending Akin's comments around here, it's tough to tell who's kidding.

Democrats circle the wagons Republicans circle the firing squad and wonder why are losing.

Liberal media takes miss statement (he meant to speak of forcible rape rather than consensual statutory rape) and makes it national news. The GOP runs to kill their wounded like a bull rushing a red cape forgetting the sword in the cape. Seen this movie before. Does not end well. Thanks Karl and company.

Excuse me but Miss Statement objects to her using her name in the same vein as (legitimate rape) Todd Akin.

You guys are a hoot as you stumble trying to defend legitimate rape Todd Akin.

Oh boy, that’s hilarious.

Why don’t you explain to your fellow chickens the exact details of your plan to replace Mr. Akin and whom you will replace him with.

Otherwise, why don’t you STFU already.

Sarah Steeleman or John Brunner, they don't have the taint of "legitimate rape", Todd Akin.

I loathe the GOP-E, as they have given me a multitude of well-deserved reasons over the past few years. I’m always champing at the bit to side against the backstabbing bastards, whether it’s to stand with the Tea Party or the social conservatives, either of which constantly seem to be the receiving end of their backhand.

Social conservatism and the pro-life movement need good spokespeople, though. There’s a good and more effective way to sell folks on “life.” I’m reminded of Palin, when she speaks of Trig and talks of God’s gift of love. That’s the way to win people. Not some bizarrely inarticulate old dude bringing up “rape” and female bodies shutting down rape-sperm conception. That has the opposite effect. Creeps people out. Makes them recoil. So even if Akin is unquestionably a solid conservative ally, his communications skills are so deadly ineffective, he helps totally undermine his very cause.

Militarily, he’s like a general who has the right beliefs and right intentions, but his political/strategic flaws lead to certain defeat in battle. He’s already grievously wounded himself on the battlefield, undermined the whole pro-life goal and given a warehouse of ammo to the enemy. I wish he had the smarts to hand the baton over, as opposed to somehow turning into a rightious suicide mission, which is how it is starting to look like to me.

If Akin drops out tomorrow, how do the Republicans win this race? It’s obvious that you’re ticked off and disappointed, but that don’t win this race. Who would you run instead of Akin? Could that person gain enough support in two and a half months to win this race? This looks like another case of panic. “We have to get rid of Akin so the press will quit talking about him!” Really? If he withdraws, the press will never mention him again? Not the press I’ve seen. You really want to get the Democrats?.....smile at them. “I’m so glad you want to talk about killing babies. Do you enjoy seeing babies being cut up?” We conservatives own the high ground on this, and really all, issues. If we panic every time a reporter says “Aha!”, then we will always be on defense. We’re right and they’re wrong. Ask them how many babies they would like to have killed and if they would like to do the killing. Make them panic.

Thank you for your clarity. I am pro-life, but this fascist attitude by some on FR repels me, especially when they can't admit that Todd Akin put his foot in his mouth and now has handed re-election to Claire McCsakill.
