Watch Boehner completely ignore the 'No's' votes over the Establishment power grab
Youtube ^

The result of the RNC new rules will be to centralize power in the hands of the Republican Establishment in Washington at the expense of the grass roots. It will also have the effect of making a primary challenge to Romney from the right in 2016 (if he wins) more difficult, given that he will control the party apparatus to an unprecedented degree given his new rules. Mark Levin stated that John Boehner ignored the “nos” which were at least as loud, if not louder than the “ayes” so that he could give Romney surrogate John Sununu, standing right next to him, what he wanted. By simply circumvented the vote by declaring ”the ayes gave it” despite all evidence to the contrary. What has the Republican Party become?

(Note: this is the only video I could find of the coup and so the poster of the original video thinks this is Paulbots negative doings when it's not - as was noted yesterday, a lot of Tea Party and grassroots conservatives were upset as well because they know that the potential for the Establishment to rig the primaries in future at will is in play)

If I want smaller government, not just government growing more slowly than before or government growing in different ways through different means than the Liberals want but actually SMALLER government, who do I vote for?

Your choice is the Republican or Democrat ticket. That's it. Those are the options. You can vote for whichever party is closer to your views (or at least contains people sympathetic to it), vote for the one furthest from your views, or take your ball and go home and waste your vote on some irrelevant candidate/party. I'm sorry, but those are your choices. Your chance to really make a difference is in party primaries. Very rarely in a 2 party system will you have a candidate to genuinely be excited about voting for in a general election. For many of us, that has never happened. For most, it was only Ronald Reagan. This is the way it will always be. Get used to it.

Your discontent should be directed at the founding fathers, who, like it or not, created a 2 party system with no possibility for coalition government. That means two party's will generally hug the center to get 50%+1 votes and win. So you can call for a constitutional convention I suppose, or shake your fist to the heavens, whine and cry, whatever, who cares. There are people who sit out every election on both sides. Go to a leftie forum and you'll encounter a lot of liberals who think Obama isn't leftwing enough so they refuse to vote. Go figure. So you are one less vote to help get rid of Obama. If that makes you feel good about yourself, more power to you I suppose.

At this point, the best I can hope for is the dignity of not having co-operated with driving the nation over a cliff. Yeah, that's what's going to happen... but it will happen without me helping it along.

Watching the video: definitely hearing the no people were the majority. The fix was in before the vote, most definitley. There should have been a roll-call vote! This is so undemocratic!
