It all collapses...Those on government welfare retirements will end just like Greee..

They are done. No money left..

This is not complex.

What was your line of work, if you haven’t already answered on the thread?

I paid into my own retirement, and pay my own medical insurance premiums each month. The money I get each month comes directly out of the funds that were taken from my wages those 25 years. It isn’t taxpayer money, and I paid taxes on it before they took it from me. The money I had to pay into my retirement fund is scheduled to last for 15 years of retirement. Since no one in my family has lived past 72, chances are I’ll be dead before MY money, in MY fund will be exhausted. That’s why I took a reduced pension, so that if I died within that 15 years, my kids would at least get a little of what I had paid into it all those years.

We all die, as well. Meanwhile you get the most out of the time you have.

This too is not complex.

I may just do that, I have read a million books, my earliest was John D McDonald, Alistar Mclaine, all the great sci fi classics and on through the years Clive Cussler,John Ringo, James Rollins and of course our local author Matt Bracken.

Alternate history is my favorite, like what would have happened if Obama took the place of Lincoln after he had him assisnated and then the USA became the most powerful socialist Empire on Earth, and the Russians wer the ones who fought so bravely to to defeat America for Life, Liberty and Freedom....

sorry, its my imagination.

Many Thank Thanks to all the well wishers who have replied so far...for those who feel I may be the cause of your future discomfort, you’re wrong! It’s the Democrats.

No matter what happens, I thank all of you for being our country’s CONSERVATIVE backbone!

Brainstorming is good. The recorder catches things you are not even fully aware of. Then you have something to work off of. It sounds like your areas of interest might lend themselves to short stories. “Ender’s Game” is a classic short story that was later built up into several books (although I prefer the original short). The point is, you actually get your teeth into it while you are doing something else.

Doubling up on productive time is good. I wish you well with it!

I hope you have many years of peaceful retirement. Only it looks as though it may not be too peaceful in the immediate future.

Do all the things you didn’t have time for.

Good Luck to you! If you did a good job and were honest in your dealings, then you are good with God. I’ve got 4 more years then hopefully I can go on to the next frontier.

Congratulations, Randy

I retired just over 2 years ago myself. That too, after 30+ years. In my case, I used to run for airplanes and hotels as I was a traveling sales man (global). Always on some one else’s deadlines.

My retired experience so far? I do what I want to do when I want to do it. Or not. And yet, I seem to always be busy. You get a nice day and you do this instead of that. You don’t have to wait for a week end

Best of luck in your retirement. Take the rest of your life off to really find what you want to be when you grow up. If like me, I’m sure you’ve had some thoughts of what that might be.

Wow...Government arrogance to the end. It's not about you and has already infected the private sector years ago.

You and your government welfare lottery style pensions are the next shoe to drop. Ya heard it here first.

They will throw you under the bus, just like they did the private sector. You'll see.. bet the rent rent Mr. Larson.

Congrats, Randy. I wish you a long retirement and much happiness for you and your family.

I retired in '99 and never looked back. I've enjoyed every minute of it and hope that you will too.
