If Romney had an Obama size inauguration would they call it extreme? Should he keep it small? Change the venue? Otherwise mix it up somehow?
Hard economic times demand asceticism.
The thin skinned President and the lap-dog press will call it illegit because he will contest the entire election if he loses. Then the left will come up with any reason to defame Romeny for having an the event while unemployment is so high.........
Roberts might get the oath right.
I suggest he not even try, but rather go the other way and play up humility in govt. I for one dislike the pomp and circumstance of inaugurations these days. It just doesn't sit right with me.
Lots of 7-up and Sprite!
I propose a three level inauguration celebration.
The first level acknowledges the sacrifices our military families have made for the last 11 years. No one above the rank of major is invited since it is for the troops that have been knocking down doors and “the staff in the rear with the gear”. This one is held at an operational military base - no the various show place headquarters bases seen around the nation.
The second one acknowledges the efforts of small businesses across the nation. Let each state wide Chamber of Commerce select four small businesses to represent their state. This one is held outside the beltway.
The final one acknowledges the importance of successful states. Only those states with unemployment below the national average are invited. It is held at the state capitol of the state with the lowest unemployment at the time of the elections. Why reward failure?
Acknowledge those who have worked hard and see what they will do for you in future!
Well, I remember Bush’s....people were throwing rocks at his motorcade.
I’d expect the same for Romney.
Oh, and the park service probably won’t have to put in that much OT to clean up the trash and feces.
lots of elitist cocktail parties up in the north east and the beltway.
Lots of the establsihent patting each other on the back saying well done old boy.
Other than that I agree with you.
no big party on the streets like bozo the clown did.
I want him to leave early like you said and say “I now have work todo, this is not a time for a party, people are lising jobs, homes and their lifestyle.
I want him to order an investigation into how the media wrked with the left, into Holder and overturn the DOJ.
Within the first hour I want that.
Then look into how the bogus survey of don’;t ask was done and how since it was over turned there has been nothing but trouble with it, cross dressing , homo parties, lawsuits etc.
Then drop all charges against the states for photoID and immigration, resind the order by this clown of the millions of illegals ecoming legal and tell them , tell all illegals that thye need to go home, apply for a visa and do the paper work over there and ten they can become legal
I did it and millions of others who became legal have had to go home and file paperwork and wait.
Then press charges against the black panthers , look into that.
Get this country back on track, stop social engineering, stop this PC madness and open the gates to energy, real energy, oil, natural gas which willcreate jobs right away and bring down prices
Concur 100%. In fact, I might do a little research and dig up how the very early presidents did their inaugurations and reproduce that. Maybe even take the oath in Washington's or Jefferson's or Adam’s home. Take D.C. and its crowd down a notch and put the focus back on first principles and founding concepts.
We won’t see most of it as the networks will be covering Obama’s six hour televised speech from the airport about what a bunch of stupid, ungrateful racist bigots we all are.
Guests will be expected to help fold up and stack tables and chairs when the festivities are finished. The Mormon Tabernacle choir will perform but be be downsized to Gladys Knight and a modest supporting chorus to save travel costs.
I’m pretty sure there won’t be any silly styrofoam Greek columns behind the podium like last time. After such a cheap theatrical stunt, I KNEW we were in trouble. Actually, I knew beforehand.
