Who Else Has Seen 2016?

I just saw 2016 today, it finally moving to a theater in my neighborhood. I thought it was just terrific, very well done and very persuasive. I'd be very interested to see what others think, especially fellow FReepers.

I thought it was the best new movie I’ve seen all year(not that I’ve seen a lot of them). I also thought it was fairer to Obama than what some folks might think. It sounds like one of the worst things that happened to him was when his mother divorced his Indonesian stepfather because he went to work for an oil company and fought against the communists. I particularly liked D’Souza’s interview with Obama’s half-brother George.

Is that the movie where with the help of the communist Chinese aliens come to save the earth or is it the one where an illegal alien communist destroys the great nation on earth?

I also saw it today.

I liked the way he compared the two of them. Also liked the fuller info on BOs motivations.

I saw it a couple weeks ago and found it very persuasive. I have met Dinesh D’Souza at a couple three rubber chicken affairs—long before he became a Hollywood star.

Saw it Friday.
Had to practically drag my wife, but she really liked it, as I did.
Little was really new to me, but it was very well done.
Highly recommend it.

Fantastic...! Saw it today, in my very liberal area. Something shocking happened:

At the end a guy was inspired and stood in the darkness, admonishing all to learn more about Fast And Furious — he was yelling his head off for 30 seconds.

But I did agree and I clapped in agreement.

The shocker; I live near Santa Cruz....! :O

I also saw “2016” this past Friday. My wife dragged me to a local matinee.

All I can say is don’t miss it. The most moving part is Dinesh’ interview with George Obama. Googled him afterward, no wonder POTUS doesn’t send him money, they disagree about everything. The Kenyan living in poverty in Nairobi understands Western values far better than the Kenyan in the White House, bottom line.

My wife and I saw it today and both thought it was well done. The anti-colonialism that is a part of Obama’s being was clearly presented.

This is not a fire breathing birther type of presentation. Just a family history that had me wondering how any kid could have escaped without issues. Too bad we are paying for those issues.

Ending was sobering. The map of ‘United Islamic States’ turned my stomach.

I saw it a week ago Friday before I left for Tampa on Saturday. The theater was full for both showings that day and still full the next day, my neighbor told me.

I think it was very powerful, and I hope independents see it as well as Paulistas who think there is no difference between Obama and Romney.

Like Buzz Aldrin’s impression of the Moon, “Magnificent desolation.”, I fear that will be the landscape of Amerika when Mr. Soetoro is done with us by 2016. I will be voting more against Obama than for Romney. Rooting more for Ryan and his intellect.

The POS must go or we are finished. Just look at the cockroaches he has surrounded himself in this administration. D’Souza nailed it and 0bama’s actions prove it.

FUBO, he’s not an American in either spirit or thought.

I saw it today too. I thought it was well done, far from a "hit piece" I thought it seemed to be a fair look into hussein's past and current motivations. For me, it put his actions in a whole new light.

If a majority of Americans are stupid and gullible enough to re elect him, then they deserve what they get. The problem is, the rest of us will suffer with them. So will my children. I can't abide that. After watching 2016 I just became a fervent Romney/Ryan supporter.

I think it was very powerful, and I hope independents see it as well as Paulistas who think there is no difference between Obama and Romney.

They won't see it for a simple reason: their belief structure is built on the assertion that there is no difference. They won't subject that to the possibility that they are wrong or everything will become senseless to them. And as we have seen with liberal Democrats, that sort of mindset will lead them to believe anything, no matter how absurd, or disbelieve anything, no matter how damning the proof, if it will simply allow them to keep believing what perpetuates their world view.

An email from my sister:

Family and friends;

Mark and I just returned from seeing the movie "2016 Obama's America" by Dinesh D'Souza.
Very powerful and insightful film about Obama's view and plan for America and what his next term could look like if re-elected.
How does someone that hates American so much come to so much power? You'll find out in this film.

This is not a push to vote for Romney - trust me on this. However - this film was very, very sobering. Once I saw it I realized this election is not about Democrats or Republicans -it's about saving our country and our way of life.

I encourage all of you to see it soon. It will make you pause and wonder - seriously & deeply wonder what happened to us as a nation that we could find ourselves in the situation!

Very scary not only for our future, but more importantly for our children's and grandchildren's future.

Saw it yesterday. Happy to say it was playing in the largest seating capacity theater at the Regal 10 in liberal Bethesda Merryland. We did the 4:15pm and it was maybe 25% filled, but if it’s in that theater it must be getting big evening crowds.

I was however disappointed that I learned relatively nothing new. Additionally, since his father had very little influence over the Marxist 0bama I don’t know why so much time was spent on him. Conversely I think more time should have been spent on 0bama’s direct communist influences like Franklin Marshall Davis , his grandfather and the rest. I don’t think he defended himself when Jake Tapper called he work “unscholarly” at all.

For me a C+ because I’m a political junky and heard/read it all before. For the casual non political A-.

Yeah, like stating emphatically that Hussein was born in Hawaii. I'm not big on the birther issue but I'm pretty sure there is no solid proof of that.

I have seen it 3 times now...the first it’s premier showing here in Houston. Took my granddaughter who was in from out of town and going to college in Vermont...then my neighbor she probably wasn’t going to vote but now will, then this last week took my husband. Our theater on a Monday night had over 50 people...I was amazed so many. My husbands reaction was WOW - worst horror movie he has seen...and creeped out. How our country could have been so deceived....all with 3 little words HOPE AND CHANGE....all empty promises. D’Souza read from Obama’s book most of the time...granted he did not directly interview Obama but the readings from Obama’s own writings were enough.....and how it all tied together. So sad his father was a polygamist (sp) and then his mom remarried the man from Indonesia who went to work eventually in the oil industry. When he was transferred to California with the oil industry....she did not want to attend the company parties...and make sure the husband knew these us white folks were not her people...she left him moving Obama to Hawaii where her folks lived and the grandfather found a mentor for Obama...Obama’s mom was definitely communist leaning and that is where Frank Marshall Davis comes in....and by the way all of this is read from Obama’s writings. The liberals now would like to say that D’Souza never interviewed Obama on any of this but he did read it from the man’s own words and interviewing his half-brother in Kenya. Matter-of-fact just recently the president’s half brother needed money for a medical bill he did not call Obama for help but D’Souza...think that should say alot. Actually, Obama should have helped his own family out with some of his book royalties. If I messed up on any of this sorry. TAKE THE BABIES AND GRAB THE OLD LADIES AND TAKE THEM TO THE MOVIES!

I saw it this past Monday at 4:50 in the afternoon. Theater was half full. It seemed like the only movie getting action based on 4 customers saying, “2016” in succession when approaching the cashier.

It was an older crowd, (silver-haired), at the showing I attended.

I saw very few under 30 in attendance.

Black Americans in attendance gave me heart!

Where I saw it, the theater room was quite tiny. There were about 20-25 people in a room which could probably have held 60 people. Everyone seemed to be very moved by the picture. I took a friend with me who I felt might be sitting on the fence. She wanted to know afterward how D’Souza knew what he knew, and what would the other side say? How biased was this film? And other questions which I felt did not need asking. I was really rather surprised that she did not express the same relief that “someone else GETS it!” that everyone else seemed to.

I was writing another post when I was looking at some quotes from Alice In Wonderland. When you wrote: "They won't see it for a simple reason: their belief structure is built on the assertion that there is no difference. They won't subject that to the possibility that they are wrong or everything will become senseless to them."

and,

"that sort of mindset will lead them to believe anything, no matter how absurd, or disbelieve anything, no matter how damning the proof, if it will simply allow them to keep believing what perpetuates their world view."

I thought of this quote:

As Alice said, "If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?"

I believe 2016: Obama's America has opened up in you profound insights into the insanity of the totalitarian Left.

It makes me sick, actually, to think Americans put him in power. I knew it all before I went. Seeing it all put together on the screen... It was like a nightmare to me.

All of us were terrorized, like we had visited the local airport and had an disgusting communist agentbot’s hands probing our croches. We were quiet on the way home.

I saw it last weekend. Thought that it was well done, but I disagree with the premise.

I think that Obama’s mother had much more influence on his life. She was raised by communist parents, so she followed in her parents footsteps when she raised her son. I think that Barry was also influenced by his stepfather and being raised in the Indonesian culture.

In typical Barry fashion he wants you think that he was influence by his dead father, but he doesn’t want you to see the communist influence from his maternal side. Barry knows that the Communist label doesn’t wear too well here in the U.S. with the general public. It is the kiss of death when running for office.

I must respectfully disagree with those who say there is nothing new in the movie. I thought I knew just about everything about his early influences, (Davis, Wright, Ayers, etc.) But who is this Unger guy? Apparently a lefty radical professor, who went to a South American country (Argentina?) to shape hearts and minds, and was THROWN OUT for being too radical! He returned to the faculty position at HARVARD, where he could be amongst his fellow travelers! What the H! Why haven’t I heard of this guy before? Glad I saw the movie. Well done, Dinesh!

You are a cynic!

I like that.

Actually, I was kind of disappointed that the movie showed nothing new to me. In fact, it took a decidedly and unwavering anti-birther approach that startled me.

It reminded me of David Brock's The Real Anita Hill in that the approach was unexpectedly sympathetic only to later find the author to be a leftist mole.

If this offends you, all I can offer are the words of Benjamin Franklin: The sting of any rebuke is THE TRUTH!

I saw it last Tuesday, at the 11:40 A.M. matinee at a multiplex theatre. Not crowded, which is not surprising for a weekday matinee; and mostly “gray heads” in the audience.

When the flick ended and we stood up to leave, I said right out loud, “And all the people said, Amen!” I heard a number of Amens voiced around the theater along with mine. And as we walked down the corridor heading for the lobby I heard a male voice behind me say, “If that doesn’t wake some people up, they’re dead!”

And then I headed for Chick-fil-A for lunch. Tuesday is “Lunch at Chick-fil-A Day.

I expressed my opinion of the film and many FRiends explained some of the info I missed or misinterpreted. So I went and saw it again and I definitely have “eyes wide open”. Please go see it twice and don’t be embarrassed at all if you need to see it twice to get the full gist of the movie....It is that important. Of course most FRiends are WAY more intelligent than myself so it doesn’t surprise me that they pick up things quicker than I do....You should see me reading some of the threads and posts.....oy vey. :-)

“I saw it last Thursday and left depressed...depressed to think that voters in this country could be stupid enough to reelect an anti-American POS like Obama.”

When the British industrialist came over from England and set up the first commune in America (New Harmony, Indiana) in 1826 his ideas on alleviating poverty with Socialism were initially very popular for a couple of years. Once the America people understood his ideas he became unpopular very quickly.

Americans are eas to con if you package the idea in a shiny, new way. They only people who stayed with it (aka the Owenites) were described similarly to the hippies and OWSers of today.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Owen
In 1825, such an experiment was attempted under the direction of his disciple, Abram Combe, at Orbiston near Glasgow; and in the next year Owen himself began another at New Harmony, Indiana, U.S., sold to him by George Rapp. After a trial of about two years both failed completely. Neither of them was a pauper experiment; but it must be said that the members were of the most motley description, many worthy people of the highest aims being mixed with vagrants, adventurers, and crotchety, wrongheaded enthusiasts, or in the words of Owen’s son “a heterogeneous collection of radicals, enthusiastic devotees to principle, honest latitudinarians, and lazy theorists, with a sprinkling of unprincipled sharpers thrown in.”

Ah, yes. I did explain the Chick-Fil-A situation to my fence-sitting friend, in a voice loud enough to be heard by the other movie viewers, before the movie started. Some of them had heard about Chick-Fil-A becoming a symbol of support for traditional marriage. I likened patronage of both Chick-Fil-a AND this movie to a sort of straw vote for the election.
