Far and wide, Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer. For a summer sport like baseball, that signifies that it is coming to an end. Even though there is a month left, and we’ve played a lot of baseball, it seems like it just started. Still, with a month left, there is a lot to be decided.

As far as what to fix about baseball, there could be a long list of things.
Yes, Labor Day marks the traditional end of the summer season. But the summer game keeps on going.
This year, game 7 of the World Series will be played on November 1st. If I could change something in baseball, I would slice a few weeks off the schedule, so we never see November baseball again.
Baseball has joined other sports in having playoffs which drag on too long, in my opinion. And they roll the dice every year because you can run into bad baseball weather in most of the country as the most important games of the year are played.
No kidding. Its rough playing ball in the north that late in the year.
Even better than the races is seeing some of the young talent coming up. Mike Trout’s historic rookie season. Bryce Harper, despite his struggles. Jurickson Profar hitting a HR at 19 in his first AB. Strasburg’s comeback. Yoenis Cespedes adapting to the big leagues in what would have been a great rookie season, except for Mr. Trout. For us Cubs fans we have seen the arrival of Anthony Rizzo, along with Jackson and Vitters as faces of the future. Thank goodness for the MLBtv package.
The Dodgers spent a zillion dollars a week ago and are now 2 games farther back than they were.
Chemistry and pitching generally trump money and hitting down the stretch....

I would agree, but my solution would involve cutting some teams that aren’t really viable. Cutting the number of playoff teams would also be a must
Agreed. There was some talk some years back of contracting the number of teams, but those plans were shelved.
But they should definitely reduce the number of teams in the playoffs. If they go back to just a division series matching division winners in each league, followed by the World Series, that would be enough for playoffs. And, would allow them to finish the season before the weather turns bad.
I am okay with going to 154 games, keeping one wild card, and keeping games in October.
Sounds good to me. Go back to the 154 game schedule.
The playoff schedule is too long. If they can cut the number of off days in the playoffs, that would really help also.
