A little gun porn... My primary carry gun has been a Para Ordanance P-12 .45. This gun may replace it. I like it better than the SIG 226. Great trigger out of the box. Anyone else have this weapon?

That is a great price. At the show in San Antonio yesterday they were $510, just for the 9mm version. My wife wants one. I am opting for an XDm 45 from Springfield.

P2022.... The internet is your friend.... Find a FFL person in your area and you can get great on-line pricing. You have to be patient.... I waited 3 months for this deal.... The FFL dealer in my area only charged $20 for the transfer of two Sigs....Yes, I bought two Sig P2022 .40 cal with Sig lasers for $399 a piece....

Sig Sauers Best Kept Secret: The Sig Pro SP2022
One of the secrets of the Sig Sauer line of pistols is the Sig Pro SP2022, a variant of the SP2009. It contains a polymer frame to keep the cost down and for the gun to be lightweight and compact. In fact, France actually acquired 250,000 of the SP2022 handguns for law enforcement and other security agencies. Must be a good gun. Being in the market for a new pistol the past few weeks, I ran down to the local gun shop one Sunday afternoon to take a look at their inventory. I intended to come out with a .40 caliber Sig Sauer in my hands. Either a P226 or P228 or something equivalent. Im a very impulse buyer. When I see something or want something, I like to have it in my possession right now.
Looking through Sherwoods Guns inventory in Bowling Green, Kentucky, I found a great deal on a Sig Sauer SP2022. After getting it out of the case and feeling how light the gun was, I knew this would be the gun I would purchase. It felt comfortable in my hand, it looked great and it was made by a Grade A firearms company.
One thing that I kept asking myself was How have I not heard of this gun before?. I hear gun enthusiasts talk about the Sig Sauer P226 all the time. I also finished reading American Sniper with the now famous Chris Kyle who is Americas most deadliest sniper. He uses the standard issue P228. So I guess the SP2022 is one pistol that just slipped under the radar for me and some other people I have talked with.
I ended up walking out with the SP2022 9mm version for $400.

Now for some technical details on the Sig Sauer SP2022:
The SP2022 9mm is a semi-automatic pistol created by SIG and J.P. Sauer & Sohn. Its father pistol, the SP2340 was originally developed as a .40 caliber gun in 1998. A year later, the SP2009 was introduced as a 9mm followed by the modified version called the SP2022 in 2002.
One of the other things that sold me on this gun was the ease of ability to reach all the mechanisms. While holding the gun in one hand you can easily reach the large slide release, the de-cocking lever, trigger and magazine release. Also, its very hard to see in the photos, but theres a small notch that raises on top of the slide to let you know if its loaded or not. This is a very nice safety feature that the P226 does not have.

As you can see in the photo above the gun looks almost identical to its other family of pistols such as the P226 and P228. It actually has some features that I believe are much better. It comes with the Picatinny rail which allows for more versatility with universal accessories such as lights or lasers. You can also add a threaded barrel to allow for a detachable suppressor.
Once the magazine of 15 rounds has been loaded you can now shoot the pistol in double action mode. After the first shot in DA mode, the gun will will re-cock itself and you can shoot in single action mode. The standard magazine has holes down the backside that allows you to see how much ammo is in your magazine.

The sights on the SP2022 are very good. They are easy to see, very clear and can line up well. All I need now is a SureFire light for added sight.

Some other notable specifications include:
- The SP2022 is now made in 9mm and .40 S&W.
- The trigger pull in double action mode is 10 lbs.
- The trigger pull in single action mode is 4 lbs.
- The overall length of the gun is 7.4 inches.
- Weight with magazine is 29 oz.
If you are in the market for a 9mm or .40 caliber pistol for home protection or for sport shooting and dont want to spend $1000 on a pistol, I recommend the Sig Sauer SP2022. Its lightweight, has many great features and comes with a low price tag and big brand name.

Haven’t acquired it yet, FRiend, the XDm that is. At the show I checked one out and loved the feel of the gun. Hope to go to an open shoot soon and try it out before buying. I was originally looking at a 1911, and still may ultimately get one - probably start with Rock Island first and upgrade at a later date.

$399?!!! I bought a re-vamped Sig P229 .40 8 years ago for almost $700. That must be a Sig knockoff like fake Rolex watches. Oh by the way, lost my Sig in the river on a canoeing trip. Dangest thing.

Everyone,
It isn’t a knock-off, stolen re-furbished or used...it is a SIG Pro 2022 .40 cal with a SIG laser for $399 from a gunshop in Kentucky that shipped it to my FFL dealer in Georgia.
They did a special purchase from SIG and bought a large quantity in (mm and .40cal.
It was such a good deal I bought 2 and gifted one to my son a few days ago on his 21st birthday.
The SIG Pro is a quiet secret amoung SIG aficionados. It has the fantastic Sig quality, reliability and accuracy that Sig is known for without the cost.....I love this gun!!
Much better than my Glock 22 in .40 cal in the accuracy department plus I prefer the exposed hammer and the saftey hammer drop feature. Trigger pull in both DA and SA is incredibly smooth, crisp and light.
