Word For The Day, September 4, 2012
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
ataraxia [at-uh-rak-see-uh]

[15951605; < Latin < Greek: calmness, equivalent to atarák ( tos ) unmoved ( a- a-6 + tarak-, variant stem of tarássein to disturb + -tos verbid suffix) + -s ( is ) -sis + -ia -ia]

Oh my gosh.... your baby is a senior!
Have I found safe haven, fair haven?
Storms are now astern at last
Have the storms passed,
do they follow in our wake?
Ending storms the doldrums make,
Neither in long passage take
'til wandering comes the wind
and hardship once again begins.
Haven, fair haven, landfall art thee,
from torment and turmoils upon the sea.

Well... I cannot say for certain yet. However, I’m hoping to ship out for basic within the next few weeks.
can you imagine??
Yes, the paddle controllers are too jumpy to use, so I can’t play Breakout. But I have Pole position, berserk, defender, missile command, freeway, pitfall, and combat.
Fun games, not too many buttons to get in the way.
His head is now ovoid!
wonder how his tennis girlie feels about it.
That is so COOL!
we thought so too!
Is that supposed to be red and blue? It looks like Denver Broncos colors from here. Do I need to adjust my set?
it’s a bright blue and a kind of fuschia.
Well, the Steelers are playing the Bronocs this week, so you wouldn’t catch me dead in that dress. ;-)
Heading for Houston again today.
Interesting perspective from the UK.

689 reasons to defeat Obama.
well it’s a shame because i am sure it would be flattering on you.
article was excellent, comments from european socialists=twaddle to use their phrase. Daniel Hannan, MEP was at the RNC and wrote favorably of it and took a load of crap at home for it too.
.....ages 8 and up.
The fellas at the Rodent Repair Garage do not feel soothed by Dave with this trick word, Ataraxia.
First off, what kind of word has half its letters as A's? Seems unfair to the one lonesome X near the end.
Secondly, ataraxia could just be s madeup word for use when the wife calls you at the bar.
She says, “Where are you!!??” and you say,”At a raxia” and since she don't know any better than you what a raxia is, she shuts up and hangs up.
Then again ataraxia could be a tar axia, which sounds like a disease involving tar or maybe the laying down of tar on a road or roof.
In this hot weather just thinking about laying asphalt tar sends me to the old Kelvinator for a cold one or six.
Once we get this axia cyphered out over a few bottles of Froth an Slosh we'll get back.
