Skip to comments.Itís Advantage Romney After Obama Fails To Move The Needle

Thursday night in Charlotte, Barack Obama doubled down on his liberalism, articulating the case for big government, greater regulation, and more spending (which he calls investing). He defined a choice that is starkly ideological, courageously embracing the left. We have not seen such positioning since the days of Mike Dukakis and Walter Mondale. And with good reason: the American people are conservative.
Asked in a recent poll, would you rather that government get out of your way or lend you a hand? Americans voted 54% to 35% for the government to get out of the way. It was odd to watch a president commit political suicide by so brazen and overt an embrace of the 35% and a repudiation of the 54%.
While eloquent as he accepted his partys nomination, Obama failed to go after Mitt Romney in his speech and throughout the whole Democratic convention. The folks in Tampa, the Republican establishment and the conservative Congress all came in for a thrashing. Mitt Romney was not on the list in both Clinton and Obamas speeches. In fact, his name was hardly mentioned an odd occurrence in view of the over $100 million Obama has spent on ads attacking Romney.
Overall, tonight left America with the impression that Obama saved GM, killed Bin Laden, and passed ObamaCare (which most of us dont like). What a thin, thin record on which to base a plea for reelection.
The result of these two conventions is a decided advantage for Romney.
Gallup has a huge pop for Obama, so not sure what needle Dick is watching. Waiting for Rasmussen.
I'd like them to lend me a hand by getting out of the way.
You know, I hope Morris isn’t blowing smoke like he did in 2008.
I’ve read two different stories that O is up a little after his oh-so fantastic convention...really?
This yo yo system based on non- exact polling science is hokum.
The dead cat bounce. It won’t last.
Rasmussen is a lot more reliable than Gallup. Gallup is in for obamma to win.
Gallup. Bounced back from likely voters to Adults in their poll to get those numbers.
Morris said he will get a bounce, but did not accomplish anything with the speech. Every candidate gets a bounce. It doesn’t change the economic situation, and obama did not make any real case for a second term.
Only in popularity, not voting.....granted, there is a delay there so that could increase.
Regardless, bumps don’t normally last long. Unless it’s a big one in the voting for column, it doesn’t matter much. What will matter a lot is the debates crammed into October. That will likely turn the race one way or another.
Gallup is being sued by the DOJ. They'd better oversample dems by 90%...
Maybe Obama realizes that Romney will be in charge of the DOJ, FBI, CIA and IRS come January and doesn't want to piss him off.
Don’t underestimate Dick Morris as he nailed the 2008 Election when Condi Rice edged out Hillary Clinton by 1.5%.
I’ve never noticed Mr. Obama’s so-called “eloquence” and wouldn’t hire him to read the news on-air in Salt Lick, Montana.
Hehe... I see what you did there. ;-)
No TelePrompTer, huh?
I think Obama DID move the needle. DOWN.
Hope Repubs ‘pop’ here. Romney should be leaving ‘dust’ in Obama’s eyes. Anything less; is bad management - and political ‘risky business’.
and by lend you a hand he means give you someone else's money so you can maintain your unproductive, parasitic, democratic party life style indefinitely. Of course they would prefer that.
From your lips to God’s ears...
Don’t know why but feeling a bit vulnerable tonight...
Too much dimtard, commie, hypocrit lies this week I guess.
ALL THE THINGS THAT THE SOCIALIST AGENDA TAKES AWAY!...and yet, the sheep on the floor cheered!
Now here's the test!...(Try it!...lol...it's unbelievable!)..ask any one of them.... Why are you a Socialist and why do u think that system is better?...
INSTANTLY!!!...They're ALL outraged!!!...How dare you!...I'm an American!...a patriot!...a believer in the Constitution....yada-yada-yada...Not 1 will admit to being a “socialist”
