Safariland announced today that Team Bianchi shooter Kenda Lenseigne added her third major victory this year when she won High Overall and Overall Champion Cowgirl at the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA) National Championship August 1-4 in Las Vegas, NV.

The High Overall Champion title is awarded to the overall winner of the match, a shoot based on five stages of an accumulative score.

Kenda and her horse-athlete, Justin, an American Quarter Horse, performed flawlessly during the event.

Lenseigne said, “The countless hours in the saddle is proof that our hard work is paying off!”

This showed not only in her High Overall and Overall Champion Cowgirl status at this event – she also added to her string of world records by achieving the fastest time in the Cimarron Eliminator event.

HORSE RIDE!!!

in highschool my best friends sister had an Arabian horse Kabul I used to ride so one morning i slung the carbine over my back and went for a ride

i saw a woodchuck and thought i’d take a shot at it, after all i’d been to the movies, i’d watched cowboys shoot and ride since i was four years old

Ka-Pow! this is a horse, and a horse of course had never seen TV and didn’t know who Roy Rodgers was

but he sure as sh!t knew he didn’t like that carbine going off near to his ear

he reared up and took off so fast he’s lucky i didn’t flinch and blow his flippin head off by accident

now he was on a mission, he was going to unass me if it was the last thing he ever did, and it almost was

he tried to knock me off by going under branches and running through bushes and sh!t and now i’m Ready to blow his head off

eject,Eject,EJECT!!! i finally jumped off and tried my best not to shoot myself in the process when i hit the ground, i made sure my finger was out from the trigger guard before i punched out.

that was the last time i ever hunted from a horse... i found out later it takes a long time to get a horse over being gun-shy, Duh!!!

Now days, both athletes wear ear protection and the horse knows exactly when to expect the shot, they train so well.

There is a carbine class of competition where the rider uses both hands on the rifle and none on the reigns.

Check out the video, for this pattern, anything under 20 seconds is very fast.

Knock it off, you still have Six all to yourself. (Give her my best, by the way)

Where do the spectators sit/watch from? Surely they aren’t all as accurate as the winner

This sport is fairly new and is designed with safety in mind for competitors and spectators first, so,...

They use very specially designed and crafted blank loads, the "dust" and "wadding" of which, only travel about ten feet farther than the range of the balloons.

The spectators sit a little back from the arena edge, behind a barrier, and are safely distanced from the action.

This is no pansy sport, horses and riders fall occasionally, but there are no gun accidents.
