You can show 2 groups of women the same picture of normal good looking guy. If Group A women are told he is 6’4” they rate him a 10. If Group B is told he is 5’8” they rate him a 5. Same guy, same picture.

I am.. I see it at Happy Hours, the gym etc.. women of my generation(20 somethings) are asking the men(attractive) out today. I see it all the time.
No, guys are not going to ask out a ugly woman but I believe what the article is implying is men may consider going out with that smart, confident 6/10 woman now instead of going after the 8+/10 woman before..

Ah, men still don’t need looks. I could have told them that wealth matters less. I see more and more couples where the man earns a fraction of what his wife makes. 20 years ago, I was the exception. Today, easily half. Especially in my circle, the doctor/doctor coupling isn’t nearly as common as it once was.
It’s in your genetic make-up to like ‘em healthy/pretty. :)
We used to have a FReeper, years and years ago who maintained that he was lonely and looking because he was only 5’6”. I found the notion entertaining if not hilarious.
Hmmm, just showed that picture to my (adult) daughter. The first thing she noticed that was that her pants went all the way up to her belly button. I’ve seen that picture posted for years, and I’ve never noticed.
My GF makes twice what I do..and I will never make what she makes. No care from either of us..and probably 1/2 the guys I know it is the same situation..maybe more.
But I disagree on the looks..women ARE being more picky today..women are placing much more emphasis on looks and good grooming.
Being 5’8” myself there is a height requirement with some women. I have been flat out told I was below the minimum by a few women. I thought it was there loss but it is still frustrating. Hey we all have standards. The ones with the height requirement are usually younger, after awhile the height requirement goes down.
Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. My best friend growing up married a woman with CP. She’s beautiful to him, and that’s all that counts.

I just never had that problem. A few women growing up wouldn’t date me because they were taller than I was, but they were by far the minority. My own wife’s first words to me were, “You’re too short.” We’re now working on 22 years of marriage. She’s 6’, I’m 5’2”. The funny thing is, she’s not even the tallest woman I dated.

Yes, it is bogus...look at Tom Cruise..5-5 as well as most Hollywood actors. Robert Downy Jr.is about the same height.

I'll take your word on that, as I'm no longer young or dating. I could never be a pretty boy. I AM a secondary sexual characteristic. If I try to go clean shaven, I just look like Fred Flintstone. Even freshly shaven, my beard is so thick with coal black whiskers that I get that neato grey jaw and cheeks. I hated the androgynous 80's.
At my age now, my wife is happy if I keep the hair growing out of my ears in check.
I sat next to a really cute(hot) girl on a plane once, we talk for a long time. Really had a lot in common. She even gave me her number. When we stood up to get out she was about 4 inches shorter than me. I called her the next day to see we could get together, she said she wasn’t interested I was a little shorter than her “requirement”. I am 5’8” and don’t consider myself THAT short. She was really hot so I guess she makes the rules. Her loss.
The single best ladies man that I knew growing up was just barely taller than I am. At 5’4”, he was a lady killer par excel-lance . He got more women than my best bud who’s 6’3” and myself put together.
A statement that he values “character” could be translated into “morality”. He wants a woman who hasn’t slept with 10 other men, won’t cheat on him, is unlikely to have diseases but won’t tell him until he’s infected, doesn’t have illegitimate kids he is asked to give things to or trick him into fathering a child for which he will pay out the nose.
Valuing her “intellect” could easily mean he wants a woman who is smart enough for a good paying job.
That’s because it is BS.

There are always a few of those. I don’t think I have ever been rejected by a woman shorter than I am though. Of course, there aren’t that many women shorter than I am either. I realized early that I like leggy blondes, so I pursued leggy blondes.

Don't get me wrong I love looking at 8.5+/10 but if I had the choice to marry a dumb as phuck, bat shiite 9/10 airhead versus a 5/6/10 smart, confident, strong, athletic/fit, best friend who shared interest was the same as mine(ok I just described my gf) well you know who I would marry.
