Lester Holt, NBC news anchor around 5:40 PM CDT on 9/9/12 went to a reporter, in Chicago, and the reporter said that appx. 400,000 children would not be "instructed" if the teachers went on strike.
Obamanomics in action, if you "rich" Americans don't give us Chicago teachers, more money, we will stop "instructing".
The kids would probably be better off without government “instruction.”
I expect that this change would be an improvement for students.
What are the chances the kids actually get smarter during the strike?
I don’t know about smarter but they definitely will get less “indoctrinated”.
They’re not getting “instruction” now. One of THE worsts school districts in the country.
400,000 students will not be able to get indoctrinated if Chitown teachers strike .
THAT SHOULD BE THIS THREADS TITLE .
Given the state of the CPS, is that really such a bad thing?
government employees should not be able to strike
schools should not belong to government
how many of those teachers speak ebonics?
Or “Student indoctrination and wasteful union spending suspended on teachers strike”.
I would imagine they are bi-lingual. ;-)
Democrats hate chilrun!
40% dropout rate in Chicago?
Chicago’s rating is based on its public schools’ test results; 10 is best.
Chicago rates a 3...

But, the left loves to exploit children (and a finite number of other groups), for political gain.
The union’s initial demand included a 19% pay raise the first year.
That ought to set them back for about 15 minutes.
No, but I examine seeing the extortion, being perpetuated by the NEA, and how Rahm Emmannueal will screw us all as he pleasures Obama and the NEA.
Just a little kabuki theater for the taxpayers, the ones that are left, before the cave-in by the Chicago gov’t.
Actually this sets a good stage for a showdown with the election coming. The longer the strike the more it hurts the RAT’S and Obummer.
They don't get any "instruction" now! Their school-day is only 5 and a half hours long, of which 30 minutes is "recess" and 30 minutes is "lunch" making their day 4 hours 30 minutes long - THE SHORTEST SCHOOL DAY IN THE COUNTRY!
Frankly, I really don't think anyone's going to notice these kids aren't getting "educated" given the brevity of their school day.
And to think, Chicago Public School teachers are the HIGHEST PAID in the country, and less than 50% of all Chicago Public Schoolkids will graduate high school....
You are COMPLETELY OVER-ESTIMATING the intelligence of the average Chicago voter! They'll find a way to blame Bush, you can bet on that.
I was thinking the same thing.
The dropout rate in Chicago schools is 40% anyway, the others may be better off just going to a library.
The already sky high crime rate in Chi-Town will go even higher.
This sounds like an opportunity here to me......
Some people could SEIZE THE INITIATIVE.
What about the aspiring public profanicators/rap artists? Who will teach them to chant nigger over and over and call it art?
Government schools are left wing induction centers. The only “instruction” the kids get is liberal propaganda. The best thing that could ever happen to students would be for the teachers to strike forever. Public education/government schools have been a colossal failure and need to be shut down permanently.
But they’re starve without the school. I kid you not...”Death on the playground”.
I wonder how many know what a library even is.
I think we should send in the unemployed flight controllers.
Reagan got it right!
RAHM: "I need for you to get all your teachers out and get out the votes for obama."
UNION PRESIDENT: That's cool, baby, but what's in it for us?"
RAHM: "You go on strike for 3 or 4 days and you and I sit in my office a couple of times a day until day 4 and watch Oprah and Judge Joe Brown. We come out every day and tell the Press we're getting close. On last day we come out smiling and announce we've settled for an 18% raise. Everyone is happy."
UNION PRESIDENT: "Sounds like a good plan. Ugh...Hmm...Aren't you forgetting something, sweetie?"
RAHM: "Oh, yeah..... At midnight tonight, go to 63rd & Stoney and park in front of that pool hall. I'll have the Police Commissioner send a guy to break the street light, so it will be darker. I'll have someone meet you with an envelope."
UNION PRESIDENT: "Make sure it's a thick envelope. I'll be 50 years old next year and I'm retiring. I means, I worked hard for this early retirement. I needs me a big fine White-man's House down in Palm Beach."
RAHM: "How about instead of a thick envelope, I send it in a brief case? It's DNC money, anyway."
UNION PRESIDENT: "You da man, sugar. Now, give me little kiss and let's go speak to the Press about my strike."
Heh, they might be better off not having to spend time in those classrooms.
one of the best bargains that we could get for our money would be to let them strike....remember the air traffic controllers???
the teachers unions should stop hiding behind kids. http://www.studentsfirst.org/
Library? What’s that?
I know that it’s probably a silly question, but....are most of these “teachers” democrats???????
the Catholic and other Christian schools will probably hold classes as usual....
