Rory McIlroy rises to top at BMW (3rd win in 4 starts)

CARMEL, Ind. -- Rory McIlroy faced the strongest collection of contenders at any golf tournament this year Sunday at the BMW Championship.
It was no contest.
Even more disconcerting for everyone else, Boy Wonder was expecting to win all along.
McIlroy fine-tuned his swing and missed only one fairway at soggy Crooked Stick, powering his way to a 5-under 67 to win his second straight FedEx Cup playoff event. They followed a record win at the PGA Championship, giving him three wins in his last four starts to establish himself as the dominant player in golf.
He became the first player since Tiger Woods in 2009 to win in consecutive weeks on the PGA Tour, and with his sixth career tour win, he joined Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win that many at age 23.

Seems that everytime I start to enjoy watching and respect an athete, actor or singer he/she opens thier big yapper to reveal thier left wing political lunacy. Such is the case for Rory from what I’ve read.

I’ve been searching for Mcilroy-politics-Obama-Northen Ireland, etc. and haven’t found a word. What have you read?

“What have you read?”
...months ago I read a pro Obama piece that included Rory’s support. It wasn’t solely about Rory, but he is an Obamabot. Believe me. I’m not looking for political opinions from anybody. I just want to enjoy an afternoon of golf. But when they’re libs, they can’t seem to keep thier mouths shut.

I follow golf as much as politics and Rory is not political at all. He did meet with Obama once. But at 22 (at the time) who is going to blow off meeting the U.S. President. And he did tweet that it was "cool."
Other than that, he's been apolitical. He's from Northern Ireland and a Catholic so he is well aware of political strife. I don't think you will see him dip his toes too deep into the political waters. Plus golf in general is very conservative - from sponsors to players.

I've seen that along with Richard Branson and other notables he attended a dinner at the white house honoring British PM David Cameron. But, from what I've seen he has no political interests or views. He's just a kid playing golf.
He will have a sticky situation coming up in his future when he has to decide whether to play for Britain or Northern Ireland in the Rio Olympics.

Maybe Rory was inspired.
