It’s almost like he called him uppity.

Anyone who really thinks like that suffers from the same psychological problem as the Carter-wannabe-with-delusions-of-royalty...

The weather has turned cool and damp, and more rain predicted for today/tonight-it is great.

It has also energized my old Kitty boy-he is more active and curious than he has been in a year, and isn’t sleeping so soundly that it is hard to wake him up-I just hope it isn’t his swansong...

Our Missy has really perked up. She is up and down the stairs and moving a lot more. She hustles to the door to great us wagging her tail. It’s like she’s shed off the last few years. This new med is great.

I hope not either since he seems to be enjoying life more lately.

That's really good news! I've been pondering getting another collie, one who is in a rescue group and much younger than our current dogs(4 and 6). I would like one who isn't a psych case. Our oldest dog just learned to sit on command this week. He's the one who is scared of his shadow, who spent the first 4 years of his life in a cage in a puppy mill. Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks? Oliver did it!
Keep us posted on Missy's progress.

That is wonderful! I hope she continues to improve-it is always so good to see them get their mojo back.

It is 67 outside, and the slow, soaking rain we need so much is falling steadily. Kitty boy continues to take a renewed interest in life-since I haven’t changed cat food, and he isn’t on any drugs, the weather is the only thing that has changed.

Husky girl is 14, and she is doing the happy dance when I take her out in the cool, but the cold is her preferred weather.

I hope you do decide to adopt the younger Collie-sounds like he needs a good home. My daughter’s Staffordshire Terrier was rescued with his littermates from a cage in a puppy mill, along with a bunch of other AKC Staffordshires, Bulldogs and Boxers. The owners of the kennel claimed they only sold dogs to pet shops, but considering that they were only raising/selling “bully breeds”, it is likely that more than a few ended up in hands that should never own an animal.

My daughter adopted him when he was 5 months old-he hid under the bed and barked his head off every time he was alone for nearly the whole first year she had him.

He is a happy, delightful dog now, who plays and sleeps with cats-and has a scary bark for unwelcome strangers-but it took him a couple of years to get there, and he still needs the comfort of being indoors with the cats when no one is home.

Puppy mills are evil incarnate.

I agree. When we brought Oliver home, it was the first time he had been on grass. Can you imagine? He rarely leaves my side and has turned into a pretty good little dog. I wish we had had him much earlier. Undoing the damage took a good year.
