Well, I had cold feet 30 years ago, lol. Still very happily married.
There’s nervousness about the wedding, as an event, and then there’s concern about being married to the person.
“Cold Feet” is a euphemism for the bride stopping one last time to decide if she can tolerate a lifetime of having sex with a man in exchange for whatever it is he has that she wants, whether it be property, money, fame, security, etc.
Not all women are this way, but there are enough to make it common. I’m lucky enough to have a wife that married me for love— I’m sure of this because I had virtually nothing when we married, and she’s still around 24 years later.
I had cold feet.....
