Houston area investigators are looking into a stand-your-ground case where after a minor fender-bender, a 22-year-old white male was shot and killed by a 23-year-old black woman. During a morning commute, Crystal Scott and Jonathan Ables were in an accident and pulled into a Shell gasoline station to survey the damage.
According to Scott, Ables exited his truck and ran toward her driver-side door. Scott said he yelled and then hit her door and tried to open it. Fearing for her life, Scott pulled her pistol and shot Ables once through the driver’s window and struck him in the chest. Ables died at the scene.
A Harris County Sheriff’s spokesman, Sgt. Felipe Rivera said “From what we understand it was maybe just a minor accident,” while adding, “The information we’re getting is that it appeared to be a minor accident that turned into road rage.”

An eyewitness, who appeared on camera but has requested anonymity, said that he did not hear any threat in the seconds before Scott killed Ables. The witness was pumping gas and standing 15 feet away from Ables when a bullet ricocheted past him and struck his car. The bullet left a noticeable impression on the witness’s car.
As for Scott’s version of events, the witness said that if Ables had shouted or banged on the car, he would have heard it. “What drew my attention was the gunshot,” said the witness. “I just want to be sure that I do everything in my power that everything is fair. I care about it being fair,” he said. The Harris County sheriff’s department has not yet responded to Spero News’ request for any security footage of the shooting.

Folks, as a lifelong Texan let me tell you something - this is Texas. And for as long as I’ve lived here, in many instances cars are treated like a home. And this exact scenario has happened several times in the past. Jerk a car door open and you die. Plain and simple.
So if you think you’re the Long Ranger or the Caped Avenger, or the father of 12, or anything else - keep you’re freaking hands off of my car door or you will eat a 9mm CorBon.
And yes absolutely - An armed society IS a polite society. Whether I believe that you have somehow disrespected me or not, I’m not jerking your car door open, and I’ll see that you’ll do the same.
If this lady makes a statement at all, it will be that felt she was about to be carjacked, and feared for her life.
The thing is, most white people today know that they had better walk on eggshells when dealing with non-whites, otherwise they can be strung up for a hate crime. Unless this guy was totally off his meds, NO WAY would he approach a black woman with road rage.
I would suggest to stand clear and wait. My wife WILL NOT exit the vehicle until she is certain of her personal safety. Too many bump and robs in this area.

“Crystal Jana Scott was released from custody, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. A bond of $200 was set for Mrs. Scott, who is listed as living at 338 Spell in Houston (77022). Scott was reportedly arrested on 4 charges, including improper change of lanes, failure to signal lane change, expired inspection certificate and driving with expired registration.”
If that in fact is the shooter, then what are the odds that she didn't have insurance and decided to give him a bullet instead of her expired insurance card???
The guy survived but he did say he didn't think she would fire.
Then there's the crowd who think they can get drunk and drive at high speed on rural highways ~ I think that gene has already been eliminated from all the other ethnic groups in America but they're still working on it.
The FReepers who live in areas with frequent carjackings know the sequence ~ hassle a woman on the road until she pulls off, then pull her out of her car and take it ~ a signature event!
I was driving on a busy city street in the Bay Area, just south of SF (where my company’s office is located). It was a typical commute time and there was some guy in Nissan truck weaving in and out of traffic behind me. I was in the middle lane just going with the flow of traffic, which is usually the safest course in my experience after commuting there for 6 years.
I kept my eyes on the rear view mirror as this guy kept weaving, having turning cars in whichever lane he was in and switching lanes every 10-20 seconds. He got behind me, right on my tail, and I maintained my speed, but kept an eye on him. With the traffic we went through probably three lighted intersections before there was an opening for him to pass (he tried once on my right with a car obviously turning, and I maintained my speed). As soon as he could, he pulls up next to me on my left, opens his window and yells at me “You better watch who you f-ing with, a damn white bastard!”. Then he sped off.
I never brake checked him, didn’t change speeds, never did anything but watch him in the mirror to make sure he didn’t anything stupid and rear-end my rental...
Looking back on it, if he HAD hit me, he’d probably have assaulted me too and then I’d be portrayed as the bad guy.
So then should a woman shoot anyone who comes up to her side window???
Usually just brandishing a weapon will get the message across, but apparently her window was closed ~ she fired right through the window!
Anyone know if that type of car has an easy to jimmy locking mechanism?
